"I called Trusted A/C and Jason came out within a day or two to give me an estimate.  When Jason arrived, he was very professional at all times and very knowledgeable on the HVAC systems and water heater.  I did have another company coming out to give me my third estimate, so I told Jason I would be contacting him after that to let him know either way.  Trusted A/C's estimate was right in the middle of the other two, so I called Jason up and hired Trusted A/C for the job.  Jason came back and did the the calculations to ensure they installed the correct size unit for my home. As we were talking about the areas of the house that are hotter than others, he noticed the registers were not the correct kind for A/C.  With the correct kind, I can open and close the third set of blades to balance the air throughout the house.  The guys came out the following week to install the new HVAC and water heater.  The were very professional and courteous the entire time they were here.  There was a little problem with the crane needed to remove the old unit from the roof and place the new one on the roof, but that was taken care of and it was here the next morning.  Luckily I also have an evaporative cooler, so it didn't bother me not having the A/C.  Since they were kind of at a standstill waiting for the crane, they jumped on the water heater.  It was so old and full of crud at the bottom it took forever to drain.  The old one, which was installed way before I bought the home, was plumbed all wrong.  Getting the new unit in was no problem, but it did take they guys a little bit to get the plumbing done correctly.  The new water heater and plumbing looks fantastic and will be so much easier to maintain.  They also replaced the thermostat and registers in no time.  They cleaned up after everything they did.  In fact, they had "Grandma" here cleaning up and she practically mopped the entire floor from the water heater to the door.  Couldn't ask for more!!!When the crane arrived the next morning, the new unit was up and in-place in no time and the old unit was down and the crane was gone.  They were very efficient and the crane driver was excellent at maneuvering the crane into the tight driveway to get access to the roof.  They finished up mid day and then Jason came out to do a final inspection before calling the job complete.  After we looked over everything, we settled up payment.    The system has been in for about three weeks now, and with the registers balanced, I don't have the hot spots I used to.  Trusted A/C did an outstanding job and I would recommend them to anyone. "

"We pay yearly but we have this is included with our rental property. They are pretty good on most things. We had a hot water heater replaced and they did an excellent job on that. They are very quick on their response. They dont come out here. It is all done on the internet.  I just like the idea that one time service charge is so much better than trying to hiring someone to come in. It is more about convenience. It pays for itself."

My motto I can probably do that. Because I've probably done it and if I haven't I probably can. I have great problem solving skills and an eye for detail. I've been at this for 20 plus years and have standing relationships with many customers.

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

The standard copper wire gauge to use with any 30-amp circuit is a 10-gauge wire. The National Electric Code specifies a 10-gauge wire with appliances like water heaters running on 30 amps. If you try to use a smaller gauge wire, such as a 12 gauge, with a 30-amp breaker, you run the risk of the wire overheating and melting or causing a fire. Because of the safety hazards, the gauge of the wire is not an area to try to cut costs when connecting a 30-amp breaker to a water heater.

Yes, hybrid water heaters can be noisy — noisier than traditional water heaters. The sound they produce is often compared to the hum of a dishwasher. Its noise comes from the heat pump’s fan and compressor as they work to pull in and compress the air. While it’s not totally disruptive, especially if the unit is installed in less frequented areas, like a basement or garage, it’s something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive to noise or if the unit will be placed near bedrooms or living spaces.

No, you’ll need to drain the tank before changing a water heater element, as the water heater element sticks through the side of the tank and uses a gasket to prevent water from pouring out. However, you don’t always need to drain it completely. If you’re only replacing the upper heating element, you can drain the tank until the water line is below the element. If you’re replacing the lower element, you’ll need to drain the whole thing.

Typically, only a high-efficiency water heater with an inducer fan can be vented outside the house. Otherwise, your water heater needs to be installed on the inside and vented through the roof. However, certain areas may allow a standard-efficiency water heater to be vented outside. Check your local building codes to be sure.

Newer models are packed with newer technologies that decrease energy consumption and increase output, giving you more bang for your buck in more bills than one.

If you’re trying to decide whether you want to repair or replace your new heater, consider factors like your utility bills, repair costs, and even your carbon footprint to help you decide whether it makes sense to buy a new one instead.
