KEY HOME INSPECTIONS

Dave did a wonderful job for us. He was very thorough and professional. He identified multiple items in the home that was important for us to know. He is very knowledgeable and it was assuring to have him there to look over the home with us. The report he generated after the inspection was just awesome. We have used that report extensively to help guide us through the important fixes that needed to happen after we purchased our home. After the inspection was done, Dave went above and beyond to help us further with additional questions we had on the home. Dave treated us like we were family. We highly recommend working with Dave.

This is the second time we used Dave. He was very professional and thorough doing the inspection. He found several areas of concern and maintenance which allowed us to purchase the cabin with full knowledge of all issues, some were taken care of by the seller. Dave made sure that he fit us into his busy schedule since we had a time crunch. The inspection was worth every penny and then some.

Dave worked with us and completed a very thorough inspection before we purchased a cabin. He found many small items that needed addressing as well as standing water in the crawl space. This could cause considerable damage and would have cost us to have the landscape re -graded and/or a sump pump with ventilation. Because he was able to find and document this we were able to ask the seller for allowances. They declined so the deal fell through. Dave's attention to detail saved us money and headaches, his report was well documented with pictures. I would recemmend Key Home Inspections to anyone and intend to use them when the opportunity arises again.

Before closing, repairs were made to the roof and plumbing of the house. These repairs were approved by the inspector. About a month after closing there was a leak in the roof and a plumbing leaks. About 2 months after closing, there was a second plumbing leak. Also, the stove, which he said worked, did not heat over 100 degrees and had to be replaced. The biggest problem was the roof. Inspector recommended patching when it was obvious to 4 other roofing companies that the roof needed to be replaced, not patched. I was told by another roofer "Somebody owes you a new roof." I was told by a second roofer that an inspector "worth his salt" would have saved me a lot of money. In the inspector's pictures the roof problems looked much less severe than in the pictures taken by other roofers. The inaccuracies or underestimation of problems in the report (which I trusted) have cost me around $3,000 only 2 months after the purchase of the house.
