"Very well! He's very personable and arrived on time. He cleaned our ducts that hadn't been cleaned since our house was built - we could smell dust when the heat went on. He sprayed Microban 24-hour in the ducts and the whole house smells wonderful! He's ressonably priced, also."

"I'm very impressed. I hired them primarily because they use natural products and figured I could learn to love them over time. They've cleaned twice so far and the results are unbelievable. Our house goes from dingy to feeling like a five star hotel. I have no complaints about the quality of the clean and find it hard to believe that they could get the house this clean even if they took a full day. The price is very reasonable for a thorough clean. The local customer service is mediocre but the results are amazing and once on a schedule, it's a breeze."

Sonic Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Roof cleaning services provide a slew of benefits, the most significant of which is improved curb appeal. Roof cleaning can make a dirty and neglected roof look new again, potentially saving you from replacing your roof to improve its appearance. Roof cleaning will also remove algae and moss, the latter of which can eventually lead to roof leaks from trapped moisture and lifted shingles. In the long run, roof cleaning can prolong the useful life of your roof and prevent property damage, making it a great investment.

Regular cleaning, inspecting for peeling or rust, and reapplying coatings every 8-12 years helps maintain durability.

It may require stronger cleansers or chemicals, higher-pressure spray, or scrubbing to completely remove algae from a metal roof. Start with a mild cleanser; if that doesn’t work and you're comfortable doing so, use a stronger mix of ⅓ cup of laundry detergent, 1 quart of bleach, and 3 quarts of water to gently scrub the algae with a soft-bristled brush. If algae is present across large portions of your roof, doesn’t come off with gentle scrubbing and cleansers, or is in hard-to-reach areas, this may be a job better left to a pro.

In most cases, it is best to leave icicles on your roof and allow them to melt naturally. You should only remove them if they are heavy enough to cause damage to your home or pose a safety risk to people below. Attempting to remove icicles yourself can be dangerous, so if you are concerned about immediate damage, it is recommended to hire a professional. To prevent icicles from recurring, you should address the underlying cause, which is often poor insulation. Long-term solutions include improving your home's insulation or installing roof heating coils.
