Customers say: Quick response

"O C Pool and Spa is a great company to work with and I highly recommend its services. Oscar and his team at O C Pool and Spa are prompt, professional, courteous, and fair. I work with a number of contractors in my line of business and O C Pool and Spa is truly one of the best. I was facing a difficult repair and was having trouble finding a reliable company to help. Oscar was immediately helpful and got the repair completed weeks before any other company I called. Working with O C Pool and Spa was hassle free from start to finish, which can be a hard quality to find. I highly recommend O C Pool and Spa to my family, friends and business associates."

"Brandon did a great job on our pool. He drained our pool using a strong pump that got the job quickly done; he replaced the sand in our filter, performed an acid wash and refilled out pool. His work left our pool looking brilliant and clear blue looking. Very satisfied and highly recommend Brandon and his company Aqua Valley Pools. The price charged was very competitive and reasonable."

"We learned of Coronel Pools after they fixed many issues at my parents house. Their pool had been problematic since they moved in and Armando and his team came in, identified all the problems and got the pool working and looking better than it ever had. We are snow birds so we hired Coronel Pools to maintain our pool while we were out of state. His communication and effort was outstanding, sending updates and pictures of the pool weekly after weekly service. I plan on using Armando for all our pool needs and would highly recommend him to anyone."

"Clear and Blue are by far the best pool service. We have lived in the valley for over 20 years and have always used pool service companies and experienced lots of poor service! Clear and Blue not only do they know how to keep our pool in perfect condition and looking wonderful, but they are the only pool service company that also knows how to repair them and informs us of any equipment problem that may occur. No question the best pool service we have ever used. We would refer them to any one."

"Blue lemon’s information was given to us via a friend when a previous pool service was neglectful in keeping our pool equipment working properly. They were quick to respond and repair the equipment to get our pool back to where we needed it to be. Since then their service has been reliable and professional. I cannot recommend them enough. A special mention to Eli our actual pool tech for being reliable and professional and Josh in the customer service department for being so quick to respond to our inquiries."

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

Most hot tubs will experience leaks due to wear and tear in the plumbing or the shell itself. The second most common issue is a heater malfunction due to the ongoing heat stress on moving parts. Finally, clogs happen in hot tub jets, especially when it’s time to change the filter.

Hot tub maintenance can cost between $500 and $1,000 annually. These costs typically cover deep cleaning the tub, refilling it several times a year, and maintaining the water's chemical balance. While you can perform maintenance yourself, a professional can clean and treat your hot tub with chemicals to save you time. The biggest expenses are often heating and repairs, but regular maintenance can help you avoid more complicated and costly repairs and preserve your investment.

Where you drain a hot tub largely depends on local regulations, but you must not drain chemically treated water where it can damage the environment. Direct the water toward a sanitary sewer drain that will take it to a treatment facility. If your lawn has a dedicated drainage area that’s free from plants and foundations, you can likely drain it there. Avoid storm drains, as the hot tub water will enter waterways and could hurt aquatic life. Likewise, do not pour it out directly on any public land or where it can get into your neighbors’ property.

Vinegar can be used as an all-purpose cleaner for many things, including hot tub filters. Soaking hot tub filters in vinegar and water for up to 24 hours can remove dirt and oil, and as a bonus, it won’t cause the water to foam after you reinstall it if there’s vinegar left on it. But make sure you still rinse it to remove any debris, dirt, or grime stuck on it.

Generally, it is more cost-effective and energy-efficient to leave your hot tub on all the time rather than turning it on and off. Reheating a hot tub from a cold temperature consumes a significant amount of energy, so maintaining a constant temperature is usually more economical, especially with frequent use.

For daily or weekly use, it's recommended to keep the water at a constant, reduced temperature, such as between 80 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and then increase it to your desired temperature before getting in. If you know you won't be using the hot tub for an extended period, you can lower the temperature to save on energy costs. However, if you use it very infrequently, you can turn it off completely, as long as there is no risk of the water freezing.
