"Prompt, efficient, knowledgeable. Mark arrived when he promised, did my list of repairs, and suggested a few other things that he noticed while he was working. He also let me know when he found an issue with a part I provided rather than just installing a defective part. Great job!"

"The price was very high for the work. I even supplied the drywall. This was a 2' X 3' patch with 1 circular cut-out for a flush out valve. Installer was on time, very clean and super nice. But seriously, the original quote was for $360+, but the installer called the office & somehow got the price reduced to $312. Still high for 2 hours of work when I supply some of the material. The installer did a great job of texturing as well. We discussed not using the original insulation so I bought new insulation which he forgot to put in :-("

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you need to leave your chimney damper open when burning a creosote log so that smoke and other debris doesn’t waft into your house as it’s burning. You’ll need to make sure your damper is fully open, even when the log continues to smoke, until it’s completely out and cold.

Chimney caps are necessary both from a building safety standpoint in most municipalities and to keep your home protected from a variety of issues. Chimney caps are not only mandated by building code in most areas, but they also serve to keep squirrels, raccoons, and other pests out of your home, as well as snow and rain. Therefore, they help to avoid property damage, making them a worthwhile investment.

EIFS has several disadvantages, primarily related to cost and moisture. The system tends to have higher upfront installation costs compared to other siding options, and repairs can also be expensive, especially if water damage occurs. A significant downside is its low breathability, which can trap moisture between its layers from either leakage or condensation. This trapped moisture increases the risk of developing mold and rot, which can lead to costly and extensive repairs if not addressed promptly.

Regular inspections, battery replacements, and testing alarms help maintain reliability.

According to the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA), the leading cause of house fires is cooking accidents, followed by fires started by heating equipment. Electrical issues are the third most common cause of house fires. The best way to keep your home protected is to use caution when cooking and never leave a stove or oven unattended while in use. You can also keep up with chimney cleaning and avoid using space heaters to reduce the risk.
