"Fred was absolutely wonderful! I had a tree branch fall on my roof so I knew the entire tree needed to go. I called Fred, he provided an estimate the same day and we scheduled a date to get the work done. Fred showed up on time and completed the work in a timely manner with no surprises. "Contacted Tru Cut and they gave me an estimate within 24hrs.  As I requested (hoping more leaves would fall), they waited one week to do the work.  We have a steep driveway with water run-off "ditches" on either side that go behind the garage and down to the lake.  They cleaned the ditches, our driveway/parking pad, and the back yard.  The job was excellent.  Will definitely hire them again.

"It was very good, they did a really good job even went back for updates about the project and I was really pleased. "Alley Home Services is not really in the business of tree removal in that they sub this out. So, it might be a little higher in price than directly hiring a tree removal service. On the other hand, they preformed just as they said they would. This was a somewhat difficult job, but went off without a hitch. I would hire them again, and will probably use them for some updates in the house. Well done."

Palm trees are unique in that their roots don't grow straight down; they grow horizontally. Typically, palm tree roots go down between 12 and 36 inches deep. The roots grow far and wide from the base of the palm tree to absorb as much water and soil nutrients as possible. In addition, the horizontal roots are also very strong—keeping palm trees stable and helping them sway during storms.

There are many signs that a tree is diseased or dying, and if you suspect that’s the case, you should call an arborist immediately. You might notice rot or fungus on the trunk or that the tree is beginning to lean to one side. Brittle branches or signs of root damage are other indicators that a tree is in trouble. If the tree is dying, it might be time to cut the tree down so it doesn’t fall.

Unfortunately, palm tree stumps are one of the most difficult types to remove due to how their roots grow. Unlike other trees, palm tree roots grow horizontally and vertically. Palm tree roots grow as deep as three feet into the ground, although soil and growing conditions could mean they go as far as 50 inches into the earth. 

If you want to be able to repurpose the grass in the area where you removed a stump later, you’ll have to dig quite deep—and perhaps wide—to trim away all the roots.
