Small jobs welcome

"1st job was to closely inspect the entire outside of our home for any possible exterior entry of pest into our home; the second job was as follows: 1. Wash and clean the metal roof of our home and carport. 2. Replace and Repair a wooden step going down into the lower yard, 3. Completely remove, replace and re-paint the wood siding on one side of our in storage shed - this included the removal and replacement of windows; and 4. Remove and replace old metal gutter guards with new tight fitting multi-polymer gutter guards. All materials for this work were brought onsite by W & W and matched up perfectly for the job(s) ."

Small jobs welcome

"We hired Tommy and his crew to replace supports, build a custom rail system, and build two gates for our back deck. Tommy made sure to outline material/labor costs upfront and worked with local vendors to ensure the most economical options for our project. They worked through some pretty rough weather, but put in full-days and always left the job-site clean. The crew's attention to detail was incredible, and suggestions they had along the way were always welcomed as we truly felt they were focused on the quality of their work. My wife and I are confident that we have found a trusted crew that we very much look forward to working with for our next project."

Doors questions, answered by experts

Adding a doggie door can allow a burglar access to knobs and locks on your door. If your pet door doesn’t come with an alarm, you can add a weight sensor alarm that will trip if anything heavier than your pet enters through it. Adding a motion sensor light to the room your pet door is in can also help deter burglars.

Check the package of your bifold door. The width shown is half an inch larger than the bifold set. This allows at least 1/4 inch between the side jamb and pivot. When installing the top track, saw the track down to leave approximately 1/6 inch on each end. This will ensure your bifold door folds and unfolds smoothly without getting stuck in the frame.

If you’re installing a pocket door into an existing door opening, the new space will need to be twice the width of the existing door, plus an inch. You'll need to double that number if you’re adding dual pocket doors.

You will need to modify an existing door to use it as a barn door for a number of reasons. For example, a barn door sits on a track several inches off the ground. An existing panel door will hover above the ground. A door that is slightly wider than the door opening is also ideal for the barn style.

You can open up more space between the door and the floor by sanding the bottom of the door, but it will take longer compared to using a hand planer. However, you could use a belt sander, which some believe is even better than a hand planer for planing a door. Also, it could leave a smoother finish on the bottom of the door.
