"I had an excellent experience with Xcel and wanted to recognize Fisher and Collin for the outstanding job they did during my installation. Both were professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient from start to finish. They worked quickly without cutting corners, explained everything clearly, and left the work area clean when they were finished. What impressed me most is that I'm already noticing the savings adding up, which makes me even happier with the service. Fisher and Collin are a great representation of Xcel, and I truly appreciate their hard work and attention to detail. If you're lucky enough to have them on your project, you're in good hands. Highly recommended!"

"Rep. checked entire system. He found several wires not connected properly and fixed this. He also made recommendations regarding the attachment of the panels to the rood that would provide more stability and leakproofing. The representative appeared to know what he was doing - much better than others, including the representative who was engaged by the roofer (who replaced our rood due to hail damage) to disconnect/connect the panels."

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

There is no blanket figure for a residential home’s electrical load, since load varies by the size of the home, how many appliances are used, and the efficiency of their electrical systems. Typically, however, it’s safe to assume 40 to 60 amps is the average electrical load of a residential home.

Modern windows provide enhanced UV protection, improved heat retention, and cooling efficiency, contributing to overall household energy savings.

There are a couple of ways you can save on the cost of your home energy audit. First, find out if you qualify for programs like the Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program for low-income households. Next, check with your local utility company to find out if you qualify for any local rebate programs to offset the cost of this helpful service.

R-value is calculated by dividing the thickness of an insulation material by its thermal conductivity. The material's composition and density influence thermal conductivity. Materials with lower conductivity values provide better insulation. The higher the R-value, the better the material is at insulating, helping homeowners select insulation that meets the energy needs of their climate and home layout.

Not all homes are suited for solar panel systems. Older roofs or those in poor condition may need repairs or replacement before solar panels can be installed. Some other factors to consider are the amount of sunlight your roof receives, the roof’s orientation and pitch, and any shading from nearby trees or buildings.
