"Cory Guerra came and inspected my home. Unfortunately due to my financial situation I am unable to move forward currently. I recommend giving foundation recovery systems a call. Cory did excellent at explaining what is going on with my basement."

"Andrew Violette and his crew started our project when it was raining very hard and cold. They continued working even with six inches of water under our home. MY wife and I was more worried about them than our home. Finally they decided to stop and start early the next morning. They did arrive on time that they had told us. Andrew and his crew kept us laughing all the time even under our home while doing their job. To make a long story short, Andrew and his crew did an excellent job under our home. We would recommend Vista Foundations to anyone. Especially if they get Andrew and crew. They'll be very satisfied. Thanks Vista Foundations and Andrew and his crew. It seemed as if they worked on our home as If it was their own home. Great job!!!"

"They installed 200+ feet on mulch beds, cut rock tree rings/beds, 18 small trees, 4 large trees, 32 small shrubs and grasses, a gravel drainage area, and a decomposed granite area for a freestanding fire pit. They did an excellent job at a fair price. Very professional and responsive. Will not hesitate to hire them again."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Basement toilets don’t always need a pump. However, it is the most common setup because plumbing systems use gravity to move waste away from the home. Basement toilets often sit below the home’s main sewage system, and installing a sewage ejector pump pushes the wastewater and sewage up to the main sewer line. Alternatively, you can use an upflush or macerator toilet that breaks down the waste and pushes it straight to the main sewer line rather than via a sewer line from the bathroom.

Installing a battery backup for your sump pump is recommended, particularly if you live in an area with frequent power outages or severe rainstorms. A sump pump requires electricity to function, and a battery backup ensures it can continue to move water out of your home if the power goes out, providing crucial protection against flooding. Additionally, frequent power outages can create electrical surges that might damage the sump pump's motor. A battery backup system offers an additional layer of protection, ensuring your basement stays dry.

Most sump pumps come with power cords that can be plugged into an outlet, but there are options that can be hardwired into a home’s electrical system. Either way, it’s smart to have a backup power supply in case the electricity goes out during a storm. That way, the sump pump can keep running and removing water from the sump pit.

Installing a sump pump takes a bit of know-how, but it is possible to do it yourself. You’ll need to familiarize yourself with details like where sump pump water goes to avoid creating new flooding risks. If you’re doing the work yourself, it’s recommended to bring in a pro for a quick inspection afterward so you can be sure your home is protected from any water damage concerns.

DIY is possible for basic setups. Professional installation ensures proper drainage and reliability.
