"What a pleasure it was to do business with this excellent worker, Dagan and Katarina Vragolic (spelling is probably wrong(. They were professional fron the start, provided me with a solid estimate. I didnâ t feel threatened, even tho I am a 74 yr old widow. English was not his first language, yet there was no problem w communication. His work was excelkent. I had a lot of deck repairs that were necessary and when finished l, he pressure washed the entire job. No messes left behind, and he was nothing but courteous. I will use he and his wife in the future to help me with jobs just out of my league. After he finished today, I searched the Angi website to see where to send a review. Couldnâ t find one. So I was thankful you contacted me. I give them a 10 out of 10!"

"Thomas is a very honest family man. He was my son's roommate a long time ago so I knew him a little bit and recently we learned that he runs a service. We needed work done so we had him out to do our project and we were very pleased. We were really surprised by his quality of work and he did a great job!"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Rotting wood, loose railings, or unstable stairs may indicate a need for expertise.

Choices include wood, composite, and hardwoods, each with unique benefits.

Yes, you can attach a deck to a mobile home, but it’s important that the work be done correctly to avoid the potential for major damage to your home. Many building codes require that any additions to mobile homes—including decks—be either freestanding or have their own support structures. Getting permits may require submitting the home's original floor plan, the proposed floor plan, framing details, and more.

No, you don't need to stain Ipe decking, although you can if you want to change the color. You will, however, need to apply a UV coating if you don't want the natural color to fade. Speak to a deck staining specialist near you to discuss the best options if you want to stain your decking. And remember that you’ll need to seal your Ipe wood deck annually to protect it from scratches and Mother Nature.

Most building codes require that railing spindles (also known as balusters) on decks or stairs be spaced no more than four inches apart. This safety standard is often called the '4-inch sphere rule,' which means a sphere with a 4-inch diameter should not be able to pass through the opening between balusters. This rule is in place to prevent small children and pets from slipping through the railing. For the same reason, the space between the bottom rail and the deck or floor surface should also be no more than four inches. As a general guideline, professionals often install three balusters per foot of railing. However, since specific requirements can vary by location, it is essential to check your local building codes to ensure compliance before starting your project.
