"5 Stars – Excellent Service from Start to Finish! I couldn’t be happier with the service I received. The team was punctual, professional, and incredibly efficient. They handled everything with care, worked quickly, and left the space spotless. Scheduling was easy, and the pricing was very fair for the amount of work they did. If you’re looking for a reliable junk removal company that gets the job done right the first time, look no further. Highly recommend!"

"I put a listing on Home Advisor at approximately 5pm on a Sunday afternoon. They called within 5 minutes and stated that they will be at my house between 6pm and 6:30pm. They arrived around 6:30pm and had the waste materials loaded and were gone by 7:20pm. They did a good job."

"We called Dogtown Services to remove debris from an old arbor and various items left by the previous owners of a house we remodeled. The responded quickly, were easy to schedule, and did the work in a timely and considerate manner. I highly recommend them, and we plan to call them to help us with some landscaping work in the future."

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

The main issue with garbage disposals is clogging. This can mean a clogging of the pipes that expel the food along with water, or a clogging of the mechanical parts themselves. The problem lies in the solution because you can’t easily see clogs if they’re inside the system, and reaching in to dislodge stuck items is a risky proposal. Call a pro and ask what they would do, but if you can’t see the clog easily, and running the unit won’t free it, you need to let a professional handle the fix.

On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.

There are many maintenance and repair issues that lead to a malfunctioning garbage disposal. Regular clogs place wear and tear on the motors, leading to an eventual shutdown. Electrical issues at the breaker, wall outlet, or disposal itself can fry the unit. The most common cause is simply a worn-down motor. These motors can only handle so much use before powering down for good.

On average, it takes one to four hours for a professional to install a garbage disposal. This includes removing the old unit, taking necessary measurements for positioning, removing and fitting new pipes, and installing the brand-new disposal system. If there are unforeseen issues, such as accessibility concerns, the process takes longer.

Continuous feed garbage disposals are the favorite model for many homeowners for a reason. As opposed to batch feed models, add food scraps to the drain whenever the disposal is running. This variety is also typically less expensive, more convenient, and easier to clean.
