"We got a walk-in tub and needed to retile the wall around it. Another company we called wouldn't touch the job because there was and existing soap shelf which was tricky to cover up. Manuel and Victoria not only solved that problem but suggested a tile that turned out much better than the one I had in mind. The work was beautiful. Victoria and Manuel were super professional throughout. They wore masks the whole time and exchanged material they had already bought because they didn't think it looked quite right. We are very happy with their work and recommend them 100%!"

"Zach kept me informed of the schedule. He replaced my roof, gutters and downspouts and other repair work. I am absolutely pleased. He was courteous, knowledgeable and charged a fair price. He went above and beyond adding a few extra repairs. Good workmanship"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

The difference between floor and wall tiles is that floor tiles generally have higher strength and porosity ratings than wall tiles. Wall tiles are typically weaker and more likely to crack or become damaged under sustained pressure like high foot traffic.

For this reason, avoid using wall tiles on floors and vice versa.

Porcelain countertops have a fairly long life span, sometimes lasting for decades. Depending on how much wear and tear you put your countertops through, it could last 25 to 50 years. But be warned, porcelain is also prone to cracking, so as long as you take good care of it, you’ll have those countertops looking brand new for years to come.

Natural stone floors, especially pebble-style tiling, are one of the least slippery options for a shower floor. Natural stone has a texture to reduce slickness, and pebble-shaped tiles add more visual and textural contrast while reducing slippage. Vinyl tiles are also designed with anti-slip texture for added safety. If you have a slippery tile, be sure to add a grippy shower mat to reduce the risk of falls.

It’s best to install a shower door after the bathroom tile is in place to ensure you have accurate measurements. If you try installing a shower door first, the tile might be too thick to install afterward, or the tile will be too thin and create a gap between the shower doors that allows water to leak. With the tile in place first, you’ll know the exact shower door size that you need.

You cannot tile directly over hot mop waterproofing because tile requires a smooth, solid surface to adhere properly. Additionally, the shower bed pan needs to be raised and sloped toward the drain to prevent water from pooling. However, you can hot mop and apply a sloped mortar bed over the top (to which the tile can then be adhered).
