"They were very prompt, and cleaned up everything. They were also very friendly. That's a plus with me. I will definitely use them again for future tree services. I felt their quote was reasonable compared to other services, but the experience and good reviews got my attention. The major work they did was very close to my home, and I wanted to make sure I had someone with a lot of experience. Very satisfied."

"Josh did an amazing job on all the trees in my backyard, which was more or less a disaster area with overgrown limbs and dead branches. Was really nice to discover an actual backyard once everything was trimmed and hauled away."

"I was so impressed with Cardona Tree Service that I even paid them extra! I was extremely impressed with the skill, speed, fair price, punctuality, and professionalism of the team of two who took down a huge tree (upwards of 50' tall) that was in a precarious position so close to my home and an out building. I watched in awe as these two worked as a flawless team with speed and efficiency and made it look so easy! Bravo, guys!"

"He's finishing up today. They had to remove four extremely large trees and they trimmed one tree. They laid plywood on the grass and other surfaces so they wouldn't damage the yard. They were extremely polite and very professional. When they took the trees down, they removed the stumps completely. I plan on using them anytime I have tree trimming or removal needs, and I would recommend them to anybody."

"I hired this company to remove two trees that were both around 100 ft tall. They were above my house and fence. I was impressed with how methodically and safely they were able to quickly cut these trees down. Great guys. Great price. Highly recommend."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The amount of time it takes for a tree trunk to rot depends on several factors, including the tree’s size, species, and environmental conditions. It can take anywhere from a few years to several decades for a tree’s trunk to rot. A tree stump, on the other hand, can take up to 10 years to disappear after it’s decayed naturally.

If you want to take your tree-planting hobby beyond your outdoor space, here are a few great ways to do it:

  • Encourage your neighbors to participate in the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA program, which has a four-step framework that helps communities grow and maintain their own tree cover.

  • Support businesses that plant trees.

  • Lobby your local government to plant more trees around your community.

  • Donate to a tree-planting charity.

Dead tree branches should be removed, because they can cause the tree to lose nutrients. They can also make the tree more susceptible to disease and pests. Removing dead and diseased branches can help the tree recover and increase the odds of saving a dying tree. Make sure to prune the tree correctly to avoid damaging it further.

In the short term, you’ll have a lot of fallen trees to deal with. Tree removal services costs typically start at $200 per tree and increase based on species and size. Then, you’ll have to deal with the loss of trees: That means a loss of shade and a greater risk of rain runoff and erosion. Also, you’ll miss out on the health and aesthetic benefits of having trees on your property, which could even affect the resale value of your home.

That being said, cutting down a tree it’s not always a bad idea. Trees growing too close to rooftops can present fire hazards or debris problems. You may need to remove diseased or dying trees to prevent future issues.

A chainsaw is the best tool to cut down a tree, but you may also use a handsaw or ax. You may also want to use a lopper or pole saw to remove limbs before cutting down the tree. Wear chainsaw chaps and protective gear, including eyewear and earplugs if you use a chainsaw. Again, if you’re unsure about how to use this tool, this project may be one to skip.
