"Quality Exteriors has installed two (2) new roofs on my home in a 13 year span [both from major hail storm damage]. They’ve also installed new windows, gutters, did some painting and replaced a major portion of my privacy fence. If it is possible for a 30 yr old home to look new, then it does. Major facelift, major improvement. The "old girl" looks good. I've received so many compliments and I have recommended them to many people who have indeed used them. It's not just the great job they did on my home/property, but the crew was great, from sales thru cleanup. I couldn't be more pleased. Fast, friendly, thorough, AND if I have a problem, they'll stand by their work. Nothing has gone wrong thus far (3+yrs now on the second roof and I no problems with the first roof for the ten years I had it). I will only use Quality Exteriors & Roofing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! GREAT WORK! Christine A Walker Shreveport, LA"

"Mr. Ferrell first connected his computer to my computer via internet and worked for quite a few hours trying to determine what exactly was wrong. The next day he continued working from his computer for several hours. He determined he would have to have my desktop tower to complete the repair. He and my son met in Huntsville to exchange the tower. He then cleaned up a lot of what was wrong and reloaded Windows 10. He deleted the D: drive which had way too much memory allotted to it. The tower was returned and I plugged it all back together and it is working better than it did when I first purchased it. I would use him again and I recommend him highly to anyone needing computer updating and/or repair. His work is warrantied and he is very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful."

Windows questions, answered by experts

Glazing is always done from the outside of the window, while the inside doesn’t require any glazing. This is because the main purpose of glazing is to create a weather-tight seal where the glass meets the frame, protecting against drafts and moisture. Since the exterior is exposed to the elements, that’s the side that needs the weatherproofing.

Yes, including the frame instead of just referring to the glass opening for window dimensions is the standard. However, some manufacturers may refer to the rough opening instead of the framed opening when listing sizes. Always confirm which measurement a manufacturer is using before ordering windows.

Most properly installed and maintained windows last between 15 and 20 years. Fiberglass windows last much longer than your average window. Since they don’t warp from temperature changes, rust, or rot, you might be able to hold onto fiberglass windows for up to 40 years. On the other hand, poorly maintained wood windows may only last for a few years.

The amount of time window lintels last is based on the environment they’re installed in and the material that’s installed. For example, a steel lintel installed in a temperate climate will always last longer than a wooden or brick lintel installed in an area with tons of rain, snow, and wind. No matter which material you choose or where you live, proper maintenance will ensure your lintels last as long as possible.

High winds can be harmful to casement windows and all types of windows. Because casement windows can swing outward, high winds could slam the window against the side of the house, bend the hinges, or even rip the window off of the hinges. If you hear some strong gusts outside, it’s best to pull the casement windows shut until it all blows over.
