"I dont like giving bad reviews but I dont want what happened to me happen to anyone else. I hired Oneal Harris of Harris sheetrock & remodeling to remodel/restore my bathroom after mold remediation due to a leak in my shower wall. I live in a double wide/manufactured home AND I specifically asked him if worked on them and if he knew how, he reassured me he did. He even went as far as telling me he completely gutted a mobile home and remodeled it.I sent him pictures of my entire batroom before he came out. He came out looked at it in person and told me he could "do it all " including resetting my shower and my toilet. The sheetrock he had his brother place was bowed, he installed my shower incorrectly and sealed it in that way, causing my shower not to be usable with the shower doors. To add insult to injury, when he tried to reinstall my shower doors he used @ 1 inch of "tacky caulk" behind the frame and bent the frame, stating there was something wrong with the shower. I found out later there wasnt anything wrong with my shower, but how he installed it. He broke the new trim for my closet door, glued the broken piece to my wall, cut the shower trim short and attached it to my wall like a puzzle. Cut the LVP short around my toilet. He did come back out 1 more time, did a very poor job of "patching"the LVP, the patch stuck up. He patched few spots of bad paint job they did but did not repaint. He did not fix any trim. He cut around my shower to get it to release BUT LEFT WHOLES above the shower in the sheetrock under the shower head, still couldnt use my shower. Please keep in mind, getting my shower usable again was the main reason I hired this company. He left said he was coming back. I never heard from him again even after several phone calls and text. I hired another company to come back behind him and repair what he did, costing a lot more! PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! I could only load a few pictures on this site due to site memory or I wouldve shown you all of it"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.

In many cases, installing new drywall will boost your home value. Replacing old, damaged, cracked, or wavy drywall is a great way to improve the look and feel of your home, as new drywall installed by a professional shouldn’t have any imperfections. Additionally, removing old drywall means you’ll have open walls, so you can install new insulation and address exposed issues with plumbing and electrical systems running behind the walls. All of these fixes will also add to your home’s value.

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.

Which style of corner bead you choose—whether metal or paper-faced—depends on your preference and if you’re comfortable using metal-cutting tools and a hammer. Metal bead offers superior strength and durability but its installation is slightly more involved. We’d say for most cases, it’s better to use metal bead but if you’re not comfortable working with metal, paper-faced bead will work just fine.

The two most common types of drywall are ½-inch and ⅝-inch thick white or gray drywall. Most walls are ⅝-inch thick because the drywall is slightly more resistant to damage and it helps dampen sound considerably. It’s also much heavier, which is why most ceilings are ½-inch thick. There are special use cases where you want to use ⅝-inch thick drywall for ceilings, such as between a garage and living space, and the ceiling above a finished basement.
