"i was very pleased with the work that included removing some very intertwined stumps from 8 - 10 humungous Birds of Paradise. They were very close to a sprinkler system, but all went well. Also, Mark did a sizable thinning of 8 or so overgrown Areca Palms and removed two additional 10 feet tall Birds of Paradise. He spent quite a bit of time cleaning up after the work was completed. I was very pleased with the service, the customer focus, and the results. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."

"Outstanding!! I’m very impressed with Brister’s Professional tree service and when he tells me he is going to do something, he follows through on time at the price he quotes. He is an expert on the types of trees he cuts down ensuring he only cuts what is needed so it does’t damage the tree. Not only is he a consumate, he is a total gentleman as Shane works around our family. I’m so impressed with his staff, it appears they are family. I learned he is an Elk in Biloxi and that speaks of his outstanding character. There ain’t no better on the Gulf Coast. He can be trusted."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Debris removal is often included in the overall cost of having a tree removed from your property. However, tree maintenance service companies do not always include debris removal in their pricing, so ask any contractors offering tree trimming cost estimates whether or not removal is included. If you want to keep the wood mulch, ask if they charge extra for it as well.

Early signs that a tree is struggling include premature leaf shedding and lesions or other strange markings. Peeling bark, dead or rotten branches on the ground, and a conspicuous lack of leaves can all be signs that a tree has started to die. By the time a tree starts leaning, it’s usually too far gone to save.

Costs reflect the size of the tree or shrub, the complexity of the task, location accessibility, and disposal needs, and comprehensive quotes vary accordingly.

Many species, especially when well-established, are not fans of transplantation. You’ll need to decide if you want to risk splashing the cash, understanding that transplantation isn’t always successful. Again, this is where hiring a pro is helpful, as they can give you all the essential info you need to ensure your tree stands a fighting chance.

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.
