"The only reason I didn't give Eco Three "5's" is because nobody is perfect but they were exceptional. The owner came out the same day I notified several companies about my wanting to see if I needed more blown-in insulation. He was the only one to call and came right out. He went into the attic and suggest 6-7 more inches (the house was built in 2002) and he found where no insulation was put in when the house was built. His price was fair and well within the average cost as shown on Home Advisor. I will recommend this company any and every time I have the opportunity. The two men who came out to actually do the work were courteous and did what I believe to be a very good job."

"A contract was drawn and services were agreed upon after 1 and 1/2 days of work they told my girlfriend they were done and left. I got home that day and checked the work and found that only half the items on the contract were completed. I contacted the rep and after discussing the situation we altered the work and contract. I have yet to see the intended results from the work but the company is easy to work with."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Small patches can be DIY, but professionals handle large-scale repairs with seamless results.

Yes, it matters which side of drywall you use. One side is smooth, and the other is rough. The smooth side should be facing outward, toward the room, while the rough side should be hidden and facing the studs and framing of the house. The smooth side will be easier to apply tape, joint compound, and, later, paint to.

Regularly in areas prone to moisture or high traffic to catch issues early.

You can paint over plaster, but repair any damage to the plaster first, or the paint will crack and bubble. You should also prepare the surface of the plaster to accept paint, which gives your paint job the best chance of looking good and lasting a long time. Before applying the color you want, apply a coat or two of primer. Additionally, use latex paint, and choose a latex paint with a satin finish for areas with dampness, like bathrooms.

The two most common drywall thicknesses for ceilings are 1/2-inch and 5/8-inch. For most standard residential applications, 1/2-inch drywall is sufficient and widely used. It provides adequate support and is lighter and easier to handle during installation compared to thicker sheets. However, 5/8-inch drywall is often used for specific cases where additional benefits are needed. It is heavier but provides superior sound dampening and fire resistance. You should consider using 5/8-inch drywall for ceilings in commercial buildings, between a garage and a living space, or above a finished basement to meet building codes or for enhanced soundproofing.
