"Express Baths sales agent Larry Cooper talked with us and explained everything about the replacement shower, and detailed design and fixtures for a new shower. We made our choices and finalized it. Can't wait for the new shower and all new fixtures."

"We replaced our bathtub with a walk in shower, and are extremely happy with the work that was provided. In only took one person 6 hours to complete the job, and he was very professional and the quality of work was great. Would hire them again."

"I had previously met with them to discuss replacing an existing deck. The sales rep spent 90 minutes with a power point presentation and quoted us over $25000. They had mailed a flyer stating that the installation fee would be discounted by 60%. This was a false representation. We considered their estimate to be at least twice the cost we were willing to pay. Felt no need to waste our time getting a quote for the door project."

"They were very nice, but the with the credit of the big deal, I did not feel that $7200 for a bathtub installation was appropriate. I did not end up using or hiring this company."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

An alcove tub is designed to fit into a three-walled enclosure in a bathroom. A drop-in tub, on the other hand, is placed into a custom-built frame or enclosure. This frame can be fitted to an alcove, making a drop-in tub a viable alternative if you want a more custom or spa-like look. Because the frame is custom, drop-in tubs offer more design flexibility and a wider range of materials, such as cultured marble or tile, compared to the simpler acrylic or fiberglass of a typical alcove tub. The frame for a drop-in tub can also be placed anywhere in the bathroom it fits, not just in an alcove.

Professionals can enhance bathroom aesthetics by recommending and implementing design elements such as modern fixtures, high-quality tiles, and efficient layouts. They ensure cohesive style, compliment functionality, and an enhanced visual appeal in the space.

Options include alcove, freestanding, clawfoot, or whirlpool tubs for various preferences.

There are a few things you can do to keep your bathroom remodel as affordable as possible in your mobile home:

  • Ask your contractor to replace caulk and grout rather than retiling

  • Ask your professional to refinish your tub/shower rather than replacing

  • Upgrade your sink fixtures rather than replacing the sink

  • Upgrade cabinet hardware and ask your remodeler to refinish the cabinets

  • Avoid changing the layout of your bathroom

The first thing to consider when converting a tub into a shower is whether you’d like to simply change out the tub or undertake a complete bathroom remodel. If you’re unsure, reviewing bathroom remodeling ideas can help you decide whether you’re satisfied with your space or could use a change. From there, decide if you’ll handle the job yourself or hire a pro, and then set a budget.
