"Any kind of construction is stressful. Matt, Dave, and Zac made the process easy and painless. Their professionalism and expertise was much appreciated. There was great communication during the whole process. My deck is beautiful and ready for Springtime. Thank you to the whole team for the great work you did. I will be contacting them soon to build a fence. I highly recommend them for your next project."

"I was so pleased they could take care of our wrought iron railing repair job. No job is too small for them and they were kind and so willing to take care of us and were very professional. I will call them first from now on for our home improvements!"

"Tim Fugatt was really easy to work with. The main thing I wanted was wooden windowsills. He scheduled the work date for 2 1/2 weeks out due to other projects he already had on the schedule. Due to the wet weather we were having, he called one afternoon to see if he could come by to start the windows since that was inside work. He and the worker that came with him completed my project that day (a week ahead of the start date) and I could not be happier! Tim Fugatt is the handyman I will always call first for any little job that may come up. Thanks Tim!"

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Most Cape Cod houses are two stories tall at the peak, although they’re considered one-and-a-half stories tall because the steep roof pitch cuts off a portion of the living space on the second story. Unless you raise the roof on your Cape Cod house to add a dormer, the interior rooms upstairs will lose some usable living space to the sloped ceilings.

Using a steel frame may raise the value of your home. Steel is more heat resistant, has better longevity, and doesn’t need any upkeep compared to traditional wood. You can also customize a steel build a little easier than other materials like brick, concrete, and vinyl—which have trouble bending and adapting to renovations.

By careful planning and reinforcement to maintain structural integrity.

Professionals ensure precise alignment and durability, critical for structural integrity.

A few signs that you need a new door frame include:

  • The door no longer fits properly in its frame and sticks or scrapes.

  • You notice cracks, holes, or rotting.

  • You feel a draft coming from around the door when it’s closed.

  • You find yourself frequently needing to make repairs.
