"My experience with Rain Management in the installation of my new gutters was outstanding!!! From his salesman who was very cordial & attentive to my needs. The installation was very timely and expertly performed to my amazement. The price was very reasonable. Mr. Kennedy (Business Owner) kept me totally informed of the installation process! "I had some gutters that needed repair and was lucky to find William and Katie at Get Your Mind Out the Gutter. After a couple of other businesses simply refused to repair the gutters at a reasonable price, William and Katie showed up and saved the day. In addition to the high quality work, they went above and beyond in so many ways. In a couple of trouble spots, they took their time and made the repair correctly instead of simply getting it done quickly. They took pictures of the issues before the work and then after to ensure that I was happy with what was done (which certainly saved me from having to climb high ladder to check). During the repair, they discovered a location where squirrels had been entering my attic that I had been unable to locate. They patched the area and we've been squirrel-free ever since! They even worked well after dark to make sure the work was done before the next rain. And finally, they stand behind their work. In one area, a heavy rain showed a small issue with the gutter. They came back out - with no extra charge - to make sure the gutter worked properly. We've had a few rains since they completed the work and the gutters have worked wonderfully! Overall, I would highly recommend Get Your Mind Out the Gutter for any work you need done!"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

On average, gutters need to be replaced every 20 years. Unprotected gutters in more extreme weather conditions are more prone to breaking and may need to be replaced sooner. Meanwhile, proper maintenance can extend your gutter’s life span even further. That said, proper installation, gutter hangers to provide additional support, and gutter guards or helmets all play an important role in how long your gutters last.

Snow and ice can both accumulate on the top of a metal roof and slide off as the weight of the snow increases or as the snow and ice melt. This can rip the gutters off your roof and damage the gutters or the roof if you don’t take preventative measures. Snow guards are one of the easiest methods for helping to prevent snow accumulation on your metal roof from damaging your gutters.

The duration of a repair job can range from a few hours to several days. Simpler issues may take 1-4 hours, while more complex work or extensive damage could take 1-3 days. The final timeline depends on the complexity of the problem, the extent of the damage, and the location of the work.

It’s technically possible to remove some soffit material without removing your gutters, but it’s usually a good idea to remove gutters, fascia, and soffit and then reinstall them in the opposite order. Replacing soffits without removing gutters is likely to leave you with a less professional and clean appearance, and you’re more likely to do damage to your gutters and fascia boards in the process.

In most cases, it makes more sense to repair leaking or damaged gutters than it will to replace them. You’ll spend an average of $400 to repair your gutters, while full replacement will cost around $2,000 or more, depending on the gutter material and style and the size of your home. If your gutters are nearing the end of their lifespan—usually around 20 years for aluminum or vinyl gutters or up to 50 years for copper or steel—then it might make sense to replace them, as it could cost you less in the long run.
