"Subcontractors were mostly good, but management of them was lacking. I had to personally supervise them because the on site contractor rarely stayed very long. Told the trim finish crew to leave because they did not know how to install crown molding. Got another crew that knew what they were doing. They never asked for periodic payments during the job (as is typical); presented one huge bill at the end. Holland homes builds nice homes, but I would not recommend them for small jobs like mine because you do not get the best crews and you have to wait for them to fit you into their schedule."

"I had an absolutely terrible experience with this company and strongly suggest you stay away from them. I paid thousands of dollars for a French drain to be installed in my backyard and to have my gutters connected to it ? the goal was to keep water away from my foundation. One of their employees almost passed out in my backyard, and I was about to call 911. The manager refused to let him go home, and another worker quit on the spot because he didn?t like how his coworker was being mistreated. The next time they came out, one of the guys asked me what he was supposed to be doing because he had no idea. I had to stand over them and constantly micromanage to prevent more mistakes ? they clearly weren?t prepared or trained for the job. After paying thousands, nothing changed. My issue was never fixed, and I completely wasted my money. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company!"

Spray foam insulation doesn’t do well around heat sources. Therefore, You can use spray foam insulation to seal around HVAC boots that penetrate through the drywalls or around where wrapped ducts connect to the boots, but we don’t recommend using spray foam insulation to encapsulate your air ducts. Spray foam insulation on air ducts is also less effective compared to duct wraps.

Not necessarily. A higher R-value simply means that the insulation has a higher heat resistance and performs better in terms of how much heat passes through the material. This can be better for some homes, or it can be too high of an R-value for other homes. Again, your climate zone determines whether the insulation is better for your home.

You don’t need to remove old insulation before adding new insulation. As long as the old insulation is still in good shape—not wet, physically damaged, or moldy—then you can stack new insulation on top of old insulation to get a compounding effect. You can also mix different types of insulation, like adding blown-in insulation around existing fiberglass batt insulation or installing rigid insulation boards over rafters in your attic that already have batt insulation installed.
