This is a dangerous job with daily high radon exposure and when I asked, he said he is aware of the risks but gets his health scanned multiple times a year. I called Covenant Air back in December after noticing that my Safety Siren Pro radon detector kept reaching alarm. Mr. Coffee came out and assessed that I could probably fix the problem myself by sealing some obvious cracks, especially around some pipes, and recommended the products so that I can do it cheap DIY. He was obviously not pushy to scare people into signing contracts, but actually tried to dissuade me from hiring him right off on installing sub slab depressurization. Although the DYI route he recommended would've been cheaper, I hired him to performs the job. The sealing did bring the radon level down where my detector's alarm didn't go off, but I wanted to lower it as much as possible. He then recommended a passive ventilation route given my reading. The passive ventilation again slashed the radon level in half, but I wanted the radon level down even further, so I ultimately opted to install the fan after weeks of data collection and analysis. He installed the fan so that I could easily turn it off to save energy based on seasonal variations. He is a very personable and methodical person, and prefers to monitor the progress of his work so that his customers don't hastily incur unnecessary cost. You almost never see someone like that in the service industry, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

"Overall, it was a good experience. AAA put down a vapor barrier and installed a Santa Fe dehumidifier with sump pump. The result is that we can now use the stand-up basement/crawlspace to store things under the house without ruining them. This is the part that you need to know. The installation was not without problems. First, they broke an A/C drain pipe, second, they cut a sprinkler controller wire while running a PVC pipe. Here's my take, accidents happen but how does the business respond to these issues? Well, Donna was very quick to send her team out to correct the problems and they even paid for the damage to the sprinkler system. To me, that's top notch customer service. Any business can make a mistake, but how they handle it is the mark of a good company. Every time I lift the roll door and go into the basement now, I'm amazed at how cool and fresh the air is down there. No more mildew and no more smell."

When one of our two outside heat pumps refused to start a few weeks ago--after a respectable number of years of service--we called AAA HVAC Pros.  We had used this company on a defrost problem with our larger heat pump a while back and the work went smoothly and the defrost problem fixed.  I have mentioned in a review of that service call that Joey Rotelli, the president of AAA, is a true wizard with heat pump systems.  (I am a retired engineer and his knowledge and working skill on these boxes amazes me.)   After several minutes, Jory determined that the heat pump/compressor unit had burned out two circuit boards when it exited this life.  Owing to the age of the units (over 20 years), we decided to replace both the compressor unit and the air handler. (These days when you lose the compressor / heat pump unit, you generally have to replace the air handler unit, too, as they are a matched pair.)

So we were faced with a complete replace.  We decided to increase the units capacity by a half tom because the old unit seemed to struggle at times.  Joey gave us a bid on the manufacturer equipment he represents (Goodman), and I got on the phone and tried to beat his figures.  I failed.  Joey's bid was over a thousand dollars less than the other bids I received.  I asked Joey when he could get to it.  He was there the next morning, and the job was finished by that afternoon,  This was a replacement of the air handler, the compressor (heat pump), and all the copper piping.  He even threw in a new digital thermostat, a water pump to move the air-handler condensate water outdoors from the garage, and a larger pad outside to set the heat pump on..  The duct interfaces never looked neater and the whole installation looks like a new one. We are totally pleased.

"I found a special on Angie's List for air duct & dryer vent cleaning.  I purchased a home built in 1989 and the Seller told me that he had never had the dryer vent cleaned. I thought I would take advantage of the discounted service and Scott Fountain came out and did a great job.  What really impressed me the most was the things that he did outside of what I had paid for.  Upon examining the furnace Scott found that the filter was not only dirty but 4 inches shorter that it should have been.  He told me what size to get and sent me to Home Depot to get the correct size and installed it for me.  When he moved the dryer out to clean the dryer vent the hose  was spilt and lint had been flying everywhere in the laundry room.  He sent me to Home Depot again to get a new hose and he installed it for me but first he vacuumed the laundry room as it was a mess.  He was prompt, professional, and a very nice man. I immediately felt a difference in the air flow in the rooms.
Because the furnace is the original furnace he recommended D. McKeon Heating & Air who came out the following Wednesday and installed a filter rack so that I could change the filter easier. They also cleaned out the evaporator coil and blew out the drain lines.  I would also recommend them as well.
