"Outstanding job! I was totally impressed by the efficiency of their six-man crew while cutting down two trees. Both the large hickory and huge pine had the potential to damage my house if falling during a storm. They both required a narrow pathway for felling and were cut down spot-on. The job was very difficult to begin with, because of the proximity to my home, but compounded by the 95 plus degree temperatures and high humidity. The crew worked extremely well together, and safely completed the job. The entire site was completely cleared of all debris, and logs and limbs were stacked exactly where I wanted. I intend to use Molina's Tree Service for any future tree removals and will highly recommend them to friends and neighbors for tree work they may need. Thank you for a job well-done!"

"Mr. Leroy has completed several jobs for me. The first was the removal of several trees and stumps. The second was trimming and removing trees and brush from the easement area behind my house. He has completed a lot of tree removal jobs in my neighborhood. Everyone I have spoken to regarding the service has been extremely pleased with the performance of the crew as well as the overall job. Mr. Leroy is professional, detail oriented and well organized. His crew works extremely well together. They are punctual, and respectful. Mr. Leroy will do what he says he will do, (which is a quality/trait you do not find in businesses these days). They always clean up the debris when the job is completed. You won't be able to tell they were even there! (With the exception of the Tree Removed). I would definitely recommend C & G Tree Service if you want the job done Right the First Time. Mr Leroy will give you a detailed estimate, review it with you and discuss any concerns you may have."

"McKinney and Son responded quickly to my request for stump grinding. Very professional and reasonably priced. He showed up on time and did a great, thorough job in about an hour. I truly recommend them! Will use McKinney for future projects. Really liked that wood chips were smaller and not chunks of wood."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Using vinegar to kill tree roots is just one of the clever ways to use vinegar around the house. The method works best when you apply vinegar as directly to the root system as possible. For example, if the old tree roots and stump are currently exposed, drill holes in the tops of the roots and pour undiluted white vinegar into the holes to soak into the plant. Remember that vinegar can kill the surrounding grass and plants should it pour over the edge.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

There are two types of arborists: certified and consulting. A certified arborist is licensed and equipped to provide tree pruning, planting, fertilizing, monitoring, transplanting, treatment, and removal services. A consulting arborist specializes in tree appraisals, diagnosing problems and recommending treatments for illnesses. However, they will not provide these services themselves. Most consulting arborists are certified arborists who can refer you to a tree service that can administer the correct treatments.

Pruning trees during the summer can be a bad idea because the new growth will take place during the hottest months of the year, which can stress your tree out. Similarly, pruning during the early fall can be a bad idea, too, because you’d be stimulating new growth when most trees are aiming to go dormant.

Pruning recommendations will vary by the type of tree, but generally, waiting until winter to prune your trees is a good idea.

Tree removal can be quite expensive, especially for larger projects, but you can use the following tips to help keep costs down:

  • Do the yard cleanup afterward yourself

  • Choose to leave the logs on your property and split them yourself

  • Opt to leave the stump in the ground and tackle stump grinding yourself

  • Pull permits for tree removal, if necessary, to avoid fines

  • Pay to have multiple trees removed at once

  • Remove tree in the late winter or early spring during off-season
