If you use anchors, make sure to buy a type that can hold at least 50 pounds. Molly bolts, threaded anchors, and toggle bolts are all good options. For extra support, you can also install a wall mounting plate with the anchors.

The cost to mount a TV usually runs between $160 and $360, with the national average landing at about $260. Not surprisingly, larger TVs will cost more to mount. Another big factor that impacts your cost is the type of TV mount. For example, a fireplace TV mount will cost more than one under a cabinet. And if you want to hide the wires in your wall, you may pay upwards of $1,000or more.

Mounting a TV on a brick wall is possible as a DIY project. You will use the same techniques you used for hanging a picture on a brick wall: drilling into the wall and inserting wall anchors. These anchors need to be large to support the weight of the TV wall bracket and the TV. You should drill into the brick instead of the mortar so you have enough support for the weight of the TV wall brackets and the TV. 

You will be placing holes in the wall to hang the mounting bracket. If you’re mounting a large TV, the bolts in use could make significant holes around half an inch in diameter. Other than a few holes, though, the process of mounting the TV should not cause significant damage to the wall, unless you make an error and miss the wall stud, tearing out drywall. Should you decide to remove the mount later, the DIY drywall repair cost for a small hole usually is $10 to $30. It’s a repair you can do in a few minutes.

The shorter the coaxial cable, the better. The further you run the cable, the more signal loss you'll experience. At 50 feet, you'll see significant signal loss, and by 100 feet, you'll experience at least a 30% drop in signal strength.
