"Work performed is highest quality. Workers were professional, considerate and trustworthy. This job started on time but wasn't complete in the 4 week estimate. There were big 3 snowstorms and days with 50 degree below zero temps causing vehicle problems. Without the weather issues, and some repairs discovered behind the walls, this job would have been complete within 4 weeks. I plan to use Rhino Construction for other upcoming projects."

Small jobs welcome

"I highly recommend 8 Stars, Inc. They did drywall installation for me including drywall hanging, mudding, and taping. 8 Stars, Inc was very professional from the beginning. They were timely, asked good relevant questions during the project estimation, and did very high quality work in a timely manner. They kept the work area clean, were always courteous, and always prompt. It was a true pleasure working with them and I highly recommend them."

"Simon was wonderful to work with. He is a man of integrity and pleasant to work with. He built our decks to our specifications and they are exactly what we hoped for. We strongly recommend him as a contractor. His price was very reasonable, his work impeccable and he was very respectful of our property - tidying up the worksite every day so as not to inconvenience us."

"It was wonderful, I have no complaints at all. They provided pictures throughout the entire process, texted me daily to let me know the progress, if I had questions they answered them immediately, and they were very communicative about what's going on."

Gazebos questions, answered by experts

Using concrete footers is the best way to secure a gazebo on a deck without drilling. The weight of the footers is more likely to hold your gazebo in place than other methods. You can also pour concrete into flower pots to create an aesthetically pleasing concrete footer or use concrete columns to make a statement.

On average, building or installing a gazebo costs around $5,700, with a typical range between $3,000 and $10,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the gazebo's size, shape, material, and design complexity. Material choice is a significant cost driver; for example, brick is often more affordable, while metal can be one of the more expensive options. Square-shaped gazebos can also be more expensive to build. Custom features, such as built-in seating or lighting, will increase the total price. You may be able to save money by purchasing a prefabricated gazebo kit or performing some of the labor yourself.

To make the gazebo accessible, you can build a wheelchair pathway leading up to it. The path should be paved with a smooth surface for wheelchairs to roll through. A low curb should be placed along each side to ensure the wheelchair stays on the path. At the end of the path, build a wheelchair ramp connecting the gazebo.

Several types of porches are available to meet your needs and style preferences. Some common porch types include:

  • Porticos are essentially a roof over a walkway leading to the home's front entrance.

  • Sunrooms are closed-in porches that are an extension of the house with glass or plastic panels that allow optimal sunlight.

  • Wraparound porches extend around the entire home, or at least the front and one side, and offer multiple entrances to the house.

  • Back porches are an extension of the home’s floor into the outdoors. These offer more protection and privacy than a deck.

Common materials include wood, vinyl, and metal. Wood offers a classic look, while vinyl and metal are low-maintenance options.
