"Larry took on the incredibly ambitious project of renovating our 1914 Craftsman home, repainting the exterior, expanding the primary bathroom, refinishing floors, decking, stairwells, expanding and updating the kitchen, updating electrical and heating systems to modern standards, and so much more.The project is almost complete, but we were so excited that we wanted to write the review anyway! Throughout the process, Larry and his crew worked tirelessly to get things done, always focusing on quality and making sure we were happy with the work. Even partway through the project, neighbors were already commenting on how much they loved his color choices, and how much he and his crew cared about the project. Even given how large the project was, Larry and his crew tackled it head-on and got it done; he really brought out what made this home so special to us. "Can't say enough about how incredible our experience with Melvin and Mateo was. First they repainted our kitchen cabinets, and they did an outstanding job - clean and flawless. Then we brought them back to paint the exterior of our home plus installing natural wood soffit above our front door with canned ceiling lights and new lamps on the front of the house. They sanded down any rough spots in our existing siding, replaced the siding on our chimney to make it new again, added trim/siding to cover up exposed concrete foundation, added a natural wood accent to our balcony, and did it all for an incredible price. They were always punctual, professional, and flexible with our ever-changing plans. Truly outstanding work - these guys are at the top of their industry for quality, value, and professionalism. Already referred our closest friends to paint their home too, and will continue sending anybody who asks their way."

Needless to say, this was not an easy project and required lots of expertise and hand scraping, sanding and priming to even get paint to stick on the old wood. Patrick was so knowledgeable and created a great project plan and Manuel and the team worked diligently over several days of very hot weather to get everything done. You should paint your home exterior every five to 10 years, on average. Climate and surroundings can affect how well paint holds up. Wood siding will likely need a fresh coat of paint every three to seven years. Paint on brick tends to last about eight to 17 years, on average.
Calculate the square footage of the area you want to paint. Divide the square footage by 350 (the average square footage a gallon of paint covers). Multiply the number of gallons you need by two, as you’ll likely be applying two coats of paint. For a more accurate estimate, subtract the square footage of the windows and doors from the initial square footage total. Painting the trim a different color or painting intricately designed trim can also increase the cost.
You should apply at least two coats of paint when painting the exterior of your house. Two coats of paint provides better durability and more even coverage than just one coat.
