Leni made an on-site visit to 1. talk through what I was looking to achieve 2. look at the space and how to reconfigure it 3. make note of any pieces I wanted to keep and incorporate into the design. When Leni sent over the final design board, I was in l-o-v-e. She really nailed my style aesthetic. I very much appreciate the thought and dedication behind each piece of furnishing she curated. I found myself showing everyone I knew my design board and what I was buying, etc. I would absolutely recommend using Ward 5 Design
- Varneys Construction IncIf you are looking for the best contractor for the job, Bill Varney and Varney's Construction is the best possible solution; their prices came in at the best and I know the other bidders would have gone well over their bids. Bill and his team are thoughtful, hard-working, good to their word, and exceptional at getting the job done right. See pictures of how they transformed my kitchen below. My summary points of why I really liked them are below for review. ***1. Bill has a meticulous eye for detail and design. Even after my final payment to him, he was still making suggestions on things to run by me such as stainless steel switch plate covers (and considering what type of bar stool design I should think about buying). We completed the contract last week with all money paid and he is still coming out this week on his own (not by my request either) to fix something "that was bothering him and to do one more little touch-up." If that doesn't speak to being good to your word and loyal to perfection on your project, I don't know what does. ***2. He and his company are flexible with your preferences and adapt to your desires. He's great at taking a picture in your mind and actually making it happen. ***3. Open to your ideas but has the sense to tell you nicely when something might look bad. He saved me from a couple possible bad design choices. ***4. He has an excellent knowledge of structural options. I had to remove a load-bearing wall and he was the only 1 of 6 contractors that said he could actually recess it into the roof trusses so that it wouldn't be seen versus having a rafter/beam running through my kitchen (either the others didn’t know how it could be done or they didn’t want the hassle). Either way; he and his team aren’t afraid of hard work and they do it the right way the first time. ***5. His network of specialists (if needed) are inexpensive and do exceptional work (i.e. architects, engineers, etc.). They also show up fast to do the work (2-4 days of him calling them). I had to do a roof penetration for the kitchen which was outside of our arrangement and it only cost $450 (“Winter Park prices” come in at about $750+ to do this type of thing). He also had an engineer/architect sign off and do the plan for the structural changes (removal of the load-bearing wall, etc. for the permit) within a matter of days and it was half of what I found elsewhere for getting an architect/engineer approval on a structural change for City approval. ***6. He and his team work extremely well with the City of Winter Park on permitting. The City of Winter Park/Planning Division was really impressed with the quality of his work and commented on how he went above and beyond what was necessary for their inspections. ***7. He and his team passed all inspections the first time (electrical, mechanical, plumbing – I had the works including bringing in higher Amp line from outside to accommodate the greater electricity usage). SUMMARY: Varney Construction was the best deal money-wise, had the highest quality work, and finished the job without any effort or hassle on my end. I cannot recommend enough

"I did not know about ELR until I noticed their signs in my neighbourhood. They first helped us dealing with our insurance company. When it was time to make the decision to actually hire them to replace my roof the first thing I did was to check them out on Angie's List. To my surprise there was no reviews for this company at all. Since I have hired numerous contractors to work on my house in the past and I found them all via Angie's List based on customer reviews, I was very unsure if I should hire them based on finding not a single review for this company.
<br /> Well I am glad I hired them to do my roof. The office staff are professional and did a good job scheduling. The dumpster arrived and was hauled away just in time. The roofers were punctual and did a good job preparing and replacing the roof. On site manager Jim stays on top of each step during the project. The whole process went well except for the long wait for my HOA approval but this part was out of their control.
<br /> Since they did a good job I think I should submit a review so I can help other customers. I will do a follow up review in 6 months or a year to make sure the quality of work sustains.

"When my husband and I decided to remodel our kitchen we started by calling several cabinet companies and a couple of general contractors, as well as talked to Lowe's and Home Depot. We wanted to replace our existing cabinets, remove the soffit over the cabinets, move the appliances a little bit, and have a hole knocked in the wall between the kitchen and dining room. I was leaning towards going with a general contractor or a big box store who could coordinate all of the various activities for us (cabinetry, countertop, electrical, plumbing, demo, etc.) rather than going with a cabinet company where we would have to do all the coordinating with the various companies ourselves. But then a friend recommended Signature Kitchen and Baths - they did the cabinets for the house she built and since she is much pickier than me I figured if they made HER happy then they would probably make ME happy. After meeting David of SKand B and seeing the cabinets in his showroom I was sold - his professionalism and the quality of the cabinets were top-notch.
<br /> David came out and measured the kitchen and made some great suggestions. He obviously knows what he is doing and has very good ideas. I honestly don't know if they manufacture any cabinets onsite, but the company they deal with can customize to pretty much any size or configuration desired. It did take 8 weeks for them to arrive, but that is what happens when you go custom.
<br /> When they arrived David came and installed them with no fuss and no drama. They are absolutely gorgeous and ooze with quality. I highly recommend Signature Kitchen and Baths if you are looking for any kind of cabinetry, either standard or custom.
