It went super smooth. They sent someone out to verify the issue and the next day they had someone bring int he new water heater.

We got this home warranty when we bought our house and within 2 weeks of moving in we are glad we got it! Our AC went out on us and they had someone out that morning and it was fixed by early afternoon! We had a problem with our electricity that night, made the call in the morning and they had someone out that more.

As a warranty company, UHP is reasonably priced. However, when I opted to go with this company they failed to tell me that had almost no repair/service persons in my area and any time I had an issue I would have to find my own repair person (thank goodness for Angie's List!), pay him up front and then be reimbursed by UHP if the claim was covered. As UHP didn't provide any repair people, they would not accept a claim until they spoke with the repair person I found. Now this wouldn't be an issue except, UHP doesn't always answer their phones (during the lunch hour for example) or you are forced into a voicemail box. On several occasions I would be forced to wait with the repair person to try and call back. Additionally, to my disappointment, UHP failed to send any reminder notice indicating when the policy is expiring or notice that they are not renewing the contract. I was only able to obtain this information when I called them.

We were contacted by the repairman within 24 hours. He was professional and knowledgeable and friendly. I asked about the stove while he was there; it was not a planned repair. He made a call and it was fit in as well. He was familiar with that problem too and ordered the part on site. Once it came it, it was installed in a short period of time and covered by the previous deductible paid. Very happy with the service.

They repaired the garage door unit and I have used them on a couple other occasions. Although a couple items were not covered under the contract, I appreciated their promptness. I've been a member of other home warranty services and they've used crappy vendors who had to return several times to do a repair.

I pay about $500 a year and $65 per visit.  They were fine.  They are doing the honorable good stuff.

When something is broken, they do pay the majority of the cost.

UHP is great, soon after we moved into our house our refrigerator failed. Without hassle they put us in touch with one of their partner dealer and gave us a more than fair credit to purchase a replacement of our choice.
