I swear that these 1 star reviews are 100% in fact true ! I’m dealing with them now 1 month in my claim stillllll waiting for a tech . Every time they go to send one they never show or call!!! Now the 5th time they promise someone will come and do the proper diagnosis . I repeat do not give this company a dime it’s a bait and switch and I’ll be looking to gather a class action lawsuit against them if anyone is interested

I had some issues with discrepancies on what they were going to charge me and what the representative said they were going to charge me. I had to call back and forth and get the price straightened out. They were reliable as far as them coming out when they said they were going to. The interaction was good. The dishwasher is fixed and working well.

the service club said that their hands were tied and it was our only option to wait even after we'd already been waiting for 3 weeks. We are at three and a half weeks and the Home Service Club has said it will be a minimum of 5 more weeks without our refrigerator.

Our A/C unit went out in the middle of July heat. After promptly filing a claim on Wednesday night we waited until Friday to have a local contractor, who was contacted by Home Service Club, to call us and inform that the earliest they could show up was Monday! On Monday the contractor called and said that the earliest they could show up was Thursday!!! I called HSC again and again and they promised to find someone else. The "someone else" finally showed up on Wednesday, one full week after the A/C unit went out. The new contractor, Jason, quickly identified the faulty control board of the heating/cooling unit as the problem; he provided the info to HSC and said that they will make a call on what to do next. A call to HSC later on Wednesday revealed that they were still "reviewing the info" they received and were waiting for some additional pieces of info they needed from Jason. I called Jason, and he said that no, he had already gave them all the options: replace the part for $400+ or replace the unit for $6k+. Multiple calls to HSC again on Thursday (day 8) resulted in same responses. Requests to speak to the supervisor resulted in promises of the supervisor calling me (that not happen until Friday, day 9). I finally gave up on Thursday afternoon, called Jason and told him to order the part. The part arrived on Monday (day 12), was installed on Tuesday (day 13), and this fixed the problem.
Meanwhile, HSC supervisor Samantha called me on Friday (day 9 of the saga) and told me that they were still reviewing the information and the options. Samantha called me next week to inform me that they denied the claim because of pre-existing conditions. She made an offer of $400 off towards replacing the system wholesale. I declined, as Jason indicated that there is no reason to replace the system. This decision by HSC is completely arbitrary as the A/C unit has worked fine before.
The story gets worse: there is no good way to get the wrong decision righted. Only after getting my claim denied did I realize that the standard HSC contract offers only forced arbitration with a private party as a means of resolving disputes (i.e. no small claims court or such). This means paying $200 for a case heard by a company whose impartiality cannot be verified (for all I know they are in bed with HSC). Bottom line: the way an HSC contract is written they can deny your claims with impunity. This is a terrible deal, no matter what the "testimonials" on their site say.
AVOID HSC. If you decide to consider other warranty companies, beware (and read the contract carefully). As for me, lesson has been learned: I will never consider home warranties again.

After researching online I decided to try this home warranty company. My microwave quit shortly after our contract went into effect and I contacted them for service the day after my coverage started.  I was told our account was being 'flagged'.   I thought..."Flagged because I was using the warranty service?" Humm.   The repair was completed and luckily I didn't need to call them for several months but then my washing machine broke down!  A household of 6 and no washing machine? I called, after about a week they assigned a local repair service that took a week to call to schedule to even look at the machine.  First impression?not professional, at all! Honestly, I didn?t even want to let them into my house but I did and they determined, (with the help of an Ipad and Google),  the problem was the bearing.  They report to the warranty company that the bearing in my machine had gone bad and as a result the drum was 'damaged'.  The warranty company determined it was my fault and refused any coverage on my machine.  Said they don?t cover ?damage? I was without a washing machine for several weeks throughout that mess. (Until I had to go buy a new one of course).  ARRGH? then my ice maker stopped working!  I sent in a request for service on 5-6 and again on 5-13 (because I hadn?t heard from  anyone).   The same unprofessional guy came back out, and said it was a $275 fix? (Ipad, google and all).  I was so unhappy with that guy just being in my home, when he left after just a few minutes looking online I found they were not even licensed to do business! Complained to the warranty company and was told they can send someone else but if it?s more than the $275 the other guy estimated I would have to pay it out of pocket.  Waited a week and never heard from another service company? complained again and they assigned yet a 3rd service company that turned out to have much more experience and was a legitimate repair company.  He determined it was more like a $700+ fix.  Warranty company offered me 2 options.  a) I pay $452 out of pocket for the repair. Or b) they give me $275 towards purchase of a $2000+ icemaker.  That?s a no-brainer?time to get rid of the warranty company!  (Now I'm totally rethinking about  my front-load washing machine I left on the curb for the trash pickers....probably wasn't even what the unlicensed guy said it was!)
But wait!  They refuse to end my contract because I?ve written a negative review of them on line.  YES those words were
actually spoken to me.  All in all this company was very disappointing and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Unfortunately, when you look for home warranty company information on the web, there is a lot of misleading information out there. I have found it difficult to find actual consumer opinions except for here on Angie?s. There seems to be a lot of false testimonials steering you to buy this home warranty plan or that home warranty product.  Do we really believe that ALL the reviews are 5 star?  Really?  After my experience with this company, I'm thinking maybe No Home Warranty is the best home warranty! I'd rather choose myself who I let into my house and not have another person decide if I'm going to get a repair or not, I can decide that for myself.

I initially had issues getting them to pay for the plumber they sent to me. I did not realize that a plumber using a "jetter" is not covered by my comprehensive coverage, however if they had used a "snake," it would have been fully covered. After many calls back and forth with their company over a period of several days, and writing letters requesting resolution, I was contacted by a knowledgeable customer service manager, "Dan," who explained all this to me.

In addition, and as a courtesy, the company is going to reimburse me much of what I paid the plumber, as they seem committed to wanting to make things right with the customer. Overall, the hold times to contact the company were a little longer than I would have liked but I am satisfied with the resolution offered (and understand more about plumbing stoppages than ever).

They could have better consistency.  They did not follow up with me after the job.  They asked me to pay back half of what I had paid.  It was not contractual.  They could have shown more customer care.

This Home Service Club company charged me 125 dollars as the Service Trade Fee (deductible fee) even though they weren't able to fix the microwave. Unbelievable. Feels like I am been cheated... Customer Service representative couldn't tell me in case of replacement what they will be paying me. I don't think they will even cover the installation charges.

Joined HSC on 7/30/14, in the summer when I am not using my furnace. After Labor Day is typically when I test and turn on my heating system every year, change the filter, and make sure it is ready to go for the Winter. On 9/8/14 when I attempted to start my furnace up, it did not turn on. HSC automatically ASSUMES that my furnace was not in working condition as of the contract start date and they cancelled my contract without ever having even seen the furnace. If they are going to make their own assumptions on whether something is working or not then they should require pre coverage inspections. They make up their own rules as they go along. This company is a scam and all consumers should be made aware of their unscrupulous practices. If I had requested service in the dead of winter, I would be left freezing in a home with no heat. Because I requested the service in the Fall, HSC ASSUMES that the furnace was not working as of last winter. When in fact, they have no way of knowing that since they couldnt be bothered sending a heating technician to look at it or even diagnose it. Warning to all consumers; DO NOT EXPECT HSC TO BE THERE FOR YOU IF YOU EVER NEED THEM. GO WITH A WARRANTY COMPANY THAT WILL ACTUALLY HONOR THEIR OWN CONTRACT.
Response from The Home Service Club
"While The Home Service club values each and every customer and strives to provide the best possible service to all of our customers, there are situations where we encounter fraud. When a customer has a heating claim on a new contract that just started (in the summer in the end of July) on an issue existing prior to the start of the contract (on a unit that at the very minimum, last operated the last time it was turned on which is the end of last winter way before the contract started), their contract is breached subject to cancellation. We love helping our customers and pride ourselves on providing a great service to our customers, but at the same time we must take a stand against an individual who is attempting to defraud our company. We stand fully behind our coverage and our teams work hard to help each and every customer."

Awful service.  This company 'steals' $650 and does not provide any service for it.  Empty promises included.  We cannot believe a company can get away with such service.  My 83 year old mother will suffer until Home Service Club decides to give me service which I already overpaid.

They change their billing process which I am not too happy about but I had to just see how it works out.  I put on a monthly basis.  I sent them a payment every month but once they do is when the guy comes out I pay him and then they take it off of what I owe them on a yearly basis so I don’t know about that but when the guy came out he did a good job of course I ended up paying for it.  I’m not sure and If I have time I am going to look at the bill and see if they are doing it correctly and if not I want to get rid of them and find and I will be calling you guys to find someone else.  The guy that came did an excellent job.  Their price is a little high.

They were very good. They are not like other companies whose prices keep going up and up. They do pretty much the same thing, i like the fact that you call them and you don't have to look up contractors.

We had an Attorney to file suit against them to pay  air condition that went out as we were living in this house in the past four months, and they wont pay for anything because they said that we did not work with them correctly. I would not recommend them to anybody, we lost $5 because of them. i called them on a Saturday and she said she have nothing to do with it until the regular people would come in on a Monday. We called them Saturday and they showed up on Thursday evening, we had to make calls asking them why they weren't here, i would call five days.

Today I received a call from a supervisor. He apologized for the service I've received and I am now the proud owner of a new trash compactor.
