I've been fairly happy with them up until the most recent claim that I've had that they're not paying out on our pool heater, so I've got kind of a mixed experience right now. A lot of times they've been good, but my most recent claim, I'm not thrilled about their service. They were pretty prompt at getting the vendor out and covering the repair. The warranty itself is about $800 a year and the service call was about $65. I'm not saving as much as I would expect to save. Quality depends on what provider they send.

I ended up paying $6000 for a new unit and got no reimbursement from the Home Warranty company. My new HVAC contractor told me that noise I was hearing in my master bath was because the drain was not draining properly and it caused the unit to rust. He said any HVAC company should have recognized that and repaired the situation.

These guys are crooks. They send out people to repair things and charge them extra for permits. In our case, they wanted $150 for a permit to change the water heater. The permit cost $50 but they contended they had to charge more because they had go get the permit. In checking with the City, they never got a permit!
We went round and round with them trying to get a refrigerator respair. They sent a guy out who didn't know how to fix it so they rejected the claim using two contract clauses. One clause didn't exist. The other was based on their assertion that there was a hole in the thermal wall. There wasn't but they would not accept that. They offered up the proposal that they could send another guy out but, if he said the same thing, I'd be out TWO visit fees. Since they clearly fabricated this problem, that didn't make sense. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!
One of their ex service reps went out to look at the refrigerator and fixed it. He quit Nations because they were disreputable. We quit Nations for the same reason.

Terrible policies! Everything is written so it does not cover anything. My air conditioner was not working so I called them. They sent an air conditioning company and they told me my outside unit was dirty and would be $40 to clean (plus the $60 "copay"). I had them do it. I noticed very quickly it was still not working so I called them again. Nations told me since it was still broken I would not have to pay the service fee again. This time the ac company tells me it is caused by improper duct work (not covered under warranty) and I would have to pay another copay. I told them Nations told me I wouldnt have to. He said no, since it was a different diagnosis I would have to pay again. I explained that clearly it was misdiagnosed the first time and should not have to pay. I called Nations and they told me too bad and I would have to pay again. I asked the woman on the phone whose side she was on. She said that they were not responsible for the companies and if they missed the problem the first time it was not their fault.
I will NOT renew my warranty with them when it expires. I had planned on it, but not now. I think their customer service is terrible and their warranty is useless.

They do what they say they'll do. They've got good vendors. Half the reason for taking their service is in case I ever need something that is not covered I call one of their vendors because they're always good. I had one dispute with them, but I read the policy again and they were right. Their professionalism is always very good.
