I had a very good experience both times I used this company. They were able to send a repair technician to my house quickly and at a convenient time. The first time I used them was for the dishwasher (the tension mechanism that keeps the door from slamming down had broken). They came back within a few days to do the work, after the part had arrived, and the cost was well-below what the Kitchenaid, approved servicer had quoted me. The second time I used them was when my refrigerator stopped cooling a few days after Thanksgiving. Again, they came to the house quickly and this time were able to fix the problem on the spot. The repairman vacuumed some dust out from under the unit and hit the re-set switch. I only wish the Kitchenaid manual had told me where this switch was so I could have tried this fix for myself, before having to call someone. Both repairmen were courteous and efficient.

In a word - GREAT!! Randy returned my call within an hour of leaving a voicemail - he said he'd be at my house at 2:30 - he was there at 2:30. He proceeded to install the dishwashers and did an IMPECCABLE job. He was calm, methodical, and installed and tested the dishwashers in about 2 hours, even though it was a challenging installation. From my initial call to completed installation - the elapsed time was less than 5 hours. I am a VERY satisfied customer, and would recommend Randy very highly. Reliable, Punctual, Competent, Honest, and Careful.

Phil called me back within a few hours of my message, and we scheduled an appointment for early the next morning (a Saturday!!). He provided me an estimate of the cost over the phone based on a couple of potential part issues (thermal fuse or touch pad panel). Phil called the next morning to confirm that he had the fuse -- the least expensive part -- with him and was on his way. If he had to come back to replace the touchpad he said he would not charge the service fee. He showed up right on time. Phil was professional and personable. He didn't even mind the very large labradoodle who insisted on assisting him. Phil travelled to Newburyport from Chelmsford. As he left, I told him that I hoped I didn't have to see him again for a long time. But if I do need an appliance guy again, I will DEFINITELY call Phil.

Same Day Service Company Inc

Our dishes weren't clean after we ran a full cycle. We called Same Day Service at 9 am on Monday morning and the repair person was in our kitchen by 9:15 am! Greg was polite, friendly and efficient. He explained what was wrong. He had the part in his truck (the dispatcher had assured us that their trucks carried > 3000 appliance parts.). He took the 10% Angie's discount off the final price without even asking. He cleaned up when he was done. The entire call lasted no more than 20 minutes.

I called Paul early Saturday morning on a holiday weekend when our refrigerator stopped working the day before. As we have small children, it was hard not having refrigeration. He answered our call himself, unlike most of the other service providers I called that used answering machines. Paul came that afternoon and fixed the starter relay. He was very pleasant, courteous, and professional. As an added bonus he gave us advice on appliances. We would definitely hire him again.

NATICK APPLIANCE INC

In mid-December, I ordered and received a shipment of a new Kitchenaid Dishwasher. In the last 30 years, this was the 3rd or 4th appliance I had ordered from Natick Appliance. Their prices are usually list and they usually change 2X to 3X the competition to install the new appliance and remove the old appliance. I am a very loyal customer so the extra cost was not as important as the relationship. Shortly after receiving the delivery I decided to also order a new range and I gave their sales person the model number of the old GE range (convection oven) and asked her for the current model that would replace it. She gave me a quote for a GE range. In doing some research on the web, I was shocked to see that the model she quoted me was discontinued and no longer made. When I called back to see if there was some misunderstanding because the model she quoted was obsolete, I was told the Natick Appliance did not consider it obsolete because they still had two of these obsolete models in stock. I could not believe it !!! They were trying to sell me an obsolete piece of junk because they had it in stock and wanted to get rid of it !!!!. "Buyer be damned" seemed to be their attitude. To add insult to injury, they have refused to come out and service by newly installed Kitchenaid dishwasher. I got a new and better model GE range for 40% off at Lowes with free installation and free removal of the old range. I will never order from Natick Appliance again. It does not pay to be a loyal customer.

Sears Appliance Repair

Over the course of the last several months, I called Sears several times, they sent a third-party service technician to my home a total of 5 times. Over that period of time he replaced two parts, yet the dishwasher continues to start itself. At the last (5th visit), I was informed that where were no more parts to be replaced and I'd have to wait for "total failure." Because I purchased the extended service warranty, I called the Sears Escalation Department and was told they will NOT replace the dishwasher. They would continue sending technicians to our home each time I call that it starts itself, and I'd have to wait for "total failure" before a replacement would be considered.

Bright Appliance New & Used

On 7/16/12 we initially contacted Bright Appliance to diagnose and repair our dishwasher. He arrived on time and was very friendly. After his initial visit, he diagnosed that the touch control and console needed to be replaced. He then ordered the part, then told us he would need to come back and repair it after the part arrived. He called two days later and said the part hadn't arrived. He came back on Friday, repaired the first problem, but the dishwasher still wouldn't work and he assumed the replacement part was defective. Then he went on vacation for a week. Before he left for vacation he ordered another part. After returning from vacation, two days later, he shows up for his third visit and then figures out that he actually repaired the dishwasher on the second visit. Total time between initial visit and confirmed repair: two and a half weeks. Total cost: almost $500. We were under the impression the cost would be a lot less. The killer was that the materials were $245 but labor was $235. Technical service time (labor) was $150 and the charge for showing up was $85. I can't help but wonder if we had called another company that the problem would have been correctly diagnoses and labor would have been a lot less.

I received an almost immediate response from James and a next day tech visit to repair/maintain our temperamental KitchenAid dishwasher. Our appliances are bisque in color, so replacing the dishwasher is not presently an ideal option for us. James again came to the rescue. We've hired him a few times now (we also have a fridge with personality) and couldn't be more satisfied with his service and reasonable pricing. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND JM APPLIANCE SERVICE.

We couldn't be happier with the services received from Northeast Appliance. They under-promised and over-delivered at every turn. The service was friendly, prompt and professional. We would recommend them without reservation for any appliance related repair work.

Herbie was my repair person. He arrived at the beginning of the time range I was given the previous day. He was very happy and sang while he worked. He explained what he was doing. I thought he was very thorough and efficient and I was extremely happy with his work. He cleaned up everything after his job was completed. I would definitely use this company again in the future.

A&E FACTORY SERVICE
1.0
We had a miserable experience. As a result of communication issues between our technician and the parts representative on the phone, it took over 8 weeks to get our dishwasher fixed. We would think again before buying another KitchenAid product, but A and E Factory Service is a local authorized service technician for Whirlpool and other major brands.

A&E FACTORY SERVICE

A&E showed up on schedule. The service technician, Ray, seemed very knowledgeable about dishwashers and took the time to explain as he tested our dishwasher. He was not able to find any problem and (this is when things started going downhill) said we must be loading the dishwasher badly. This could not possibly be the cause, because the dishwasher had been cleaning everything perfectly for TWO YEARS, and we are still loading it the same way. We explained this to Ray, but he did not seem to hear the story and continued to blame the layout of the dishes. Finally he heard us, but said there was nothing wrong with the dishwasher. He charged us $126 for "Explain Feature Operation." I was expecting a $75 charge from A&E which Sears says is for "product inspection and an estimate of labor and part costs. Other costs only apply once you've approved the estimate." Since the technician found nothing wrong, I believe we were overcharged according to Sears's policy. After A&E left, the dishwasher continued to wash every load badly on the top rack, even when we tried Ray's modified way to load dishes. It was clear that something wasn't spraying water onto the top rack. I called another appliance service company (American Appliance in Waltham) and their tech, Brian, found the actual problem in FIVE MINUTES: the spray arm underneath the top rack was visibly disconnected. He snapped it back into place and everything worked again.

American Appliance

I contacted American Appliance and they came the next day. The technician arrived on time. Within 5 minutes, he discovered that the spray arm for the upper rack was disconnected slightly from the water supply. He snapped it back into place and the dishwasher worked again. He explained that a large dish probably hit the spray arm, and if the problem happens again, we can snap it back into place ourselves. If the problem continued, he said we could replace the spray arm.

James called back within two hours detailing what appeared to be the probable fix (you never with electronic parts). He provided the cost of the parts and labor, and also that there may be other issues as well. With the cost of the repair and the age of the oven he suggested that we may want to look at replacing the oven with a new model. He suggested GE for their reliability, availability of repair parts and cost to repair. We are currently shopping for a new oven. James could have just come out and charged us for a service call but instead he was up front and did some leg work beforehand to save us the extra money.

We have never had sercvice like Toma's service. The are prompt, Knowledgeable and efficient. I recommend them highly. Consumer report says that most appliance will last about 3 years which makes you wonder why we as a whole don't value quality, but Toma is the exception- it speaks quality service> A+

Same Day Service Company Inc

I knew something was up when I heard a grinding noise coming from the back of the refrigerator. The next day my mother in law noticed the center divider of our side by side refrigerator was too hot to touch. I looked up the issue online and all the experts said the problem was with a failed condenser cooling fan. I had been using another repair place, but I wasn't happy with them. They misdiagnosed some problems in the past and I ended up with higher than expected repair costs. So I went to Angie's List and found Same Day Service. I called that evening (Sunday) and they scheduled an appointment for the next day. They have this nice service they phone you 30 minutes prior to their arrival giving you time to get home to meet them. They called at 5PM and was there by 5:15PM. The technician was very professional and did a complete diagnosis prior to informing me that the condenser fan had failed. He then proceeded to complete clean out the bottom of the unit and replace the fan. This refrigerator has been problematic, so I took him up on his offer for a $50 yearly service plan. I don't usually believe in these plans, but I have little faith in the reliability of my Kitchenaid appliances.

Jarvis Appliances Inc

We purchased all our kitchen and laundry appliances from Jarvis for our house remodel. In all our years of home ownership, we have never experienced better advice and service. From Amy in sales, to Marcia who oversees warrantees, to Frank who runs the service department, to John who serviced some of the appliances, we were treated royally. Their customer service is unsurpassed by anyone we have ever dealt with. Jarvis is professional and really cares about customer satisfaction. Their prices are very competitive. They are completely reliable. We ordered all our appliances at once to take advantage of rebates, but they were not installed for several months. They worked with us to begin the warrantees upon actual installation. In addition, there was a manufacturer's defect in our cooktop. Marcia came to our house to inspect the problem and worked with the Kitchenaid representative to replace it. It was backordered, yet Marcia assured us she would follow up. This she did to an amazing degree, calling us many times to keep us posted. Her level of care was extraordinary. Frank made sure we were taken care of in a timely fashion when we needed replacement parts for a noisy microwave oven and scheduling service promptly. John installed our cooktop and addressed our many questions about other appliances. When we were experiencing trouble with our dryer, he determined that the vent was blocked with lint because our contractor put a grate in it which collected lint. He leaned out a second story window to pull the grate out! He then instructed us with proper use of our new appliances. These folks have gone above and beyond the call of duty. We would never consider buying appliances from anyone but Jarvis. As a family owned company, they know how important it is to put their customers first.
