"Dutch and his partner, Mike, put down our hardwood flooring for us in just a few days! Before our floor was laid, they took a wall down in our kitchen which gave us a wonderful open "great room". They were incredible workers. Dutch has so much experience that he was able to figure out some real tough situations we had with wiring and plumbing after the wall was down. Mike was excellent at crawling up in the attic and helping Dutch reroute all the exposed wiring. I've never seen two guys work so hard and put in such long days. They were incredibly fast at their work and I would highly recommend them for any remodeling job. Very nice guys!"

"We replaced carpet in four upstairs bedrooms, the hallway, the stairs and the dining room and formal living room. Whew. Steve's flooring has the best price for the installation/removal/disposal and was able to work with us on the date we needed him and his crew. He helped us get the carpet we needed from Menards when they had a mixup and didn't have what we'd purchased on hand. He went above and beyond in many ways and offered sound advice that helped us get exactly what we needed at an affordable price. Great responsiveness, friendly business owner, good communicator and all around great experience. I highly recommend Steve's Flooring.

Already have a home but you want to make some changes, we can do that as well. At Whitehurst Construction, we don't sub-contract everything out, we do most of it ourselves. That gives our customers several advantages over other general contractors: \n\n(1) The customer gets our meticulous craftsmanship \n(2) Without having to pay another contractor to come to your house when we are already there. \n\nThe more one contractor can do in-house, the better the price will be. Some of the things we do are: roofing, tile, siding, painting, flooring, rough framing, finish trim, decks, metal buildings, pole barns, fabric buildings, and much more. I have been in the construction industry for 16 years and high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. \n\nContact Whitehurst Construction, we welcome the opportunity to deliver you the best service in the industry. \n

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

The number of boxes of tile you need depends entirely on the amount of tile in each box or case. Different manufacturers package their tiles differently, and boxes contain different amounts of tile depending on the size, shape, and material. Often, the amount of area that a case will cover is listed in the product description. To calculate the number of boxes you need, take the total square feet of the space and divide it by the number of square feet the box will cover.

You can purchase natural stone tiles from your local home improvement store or stone distributor.

Simply put, natural stone flooring is a high-end style that outlasts its wood and carpet counterparts. After finding a style you love, a stone flooring company near you can help source and install them for a reliably clean look.

Tile countertops can last up to 100 years when properly maintained. Ceramic and porcelain tiles are the most durable types and can last as long as natural stone countertops like granite, marble, and quartz. Tile countertops are much cheaper than natural stone countertops, making them an excellent option for a homeowner with a limited budget.

How long painted tiles last ultimately comes down to the quality of the paint job and how much wear and tear the tiles get. It’s possible the paint job will only last about six months if the tiles are in a high-traffic area and they weren’t properly cleaned, sanded, and primed prior to painting and sealing. Well-painted tiles in a low-traffic area should last at least a year.

The tile trim you use will depend on a few factors, including design preferences, budget, and whether the project is DIY or not. You might choose plastic trim if you want an easier DIY job that is more budget-friendly. There are also more color options available in plastic. On the other hand, you might choose metal to match your fixtures or for areas with heavy use.
