Customers say: Quick response

"Apples to oranges - in comparing the 3 Home Advisor services. One wanted to power wash my fence (probably needed it), another did not even mention power washing or cleaning, and the third said he did not believe in putting water on wood - planned to dry scrub. So, in comparing prices, I will have to determine what I need."

"Austin and his crew were fantastic. He gave me a very reasonable quote for the job. They primed and painted two coats on my fascia, soffits, and windows, plus did my wheelchair ramp with the correct product. He even painted my address pole in the front for me so everything matched! Austin and crew painted with brushes and rollers as promised and did a great job. I highly recommend this company. They are local and treat their customers extremely well! Polite and professional!"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Two coats of stain are ideal for the best protection and aesthetic appeal. However, if your decking is made of particularly dense hardwood, you may only need one coat. If you want an intense color, two coats are ideal.

No, you don't need to stain Ipe decking, although you can if you want to change the color. You will, however, need to apply a UV coating if you don't want the natural color to fade. Speak to a deck staining specialist near you to discuss the best options if you want to stain your decking. And remember that you’ll need to seal your Ipe wood deck annually to protect it from scratches and Mother Nature.

A wood deck requires annual cleaning and regular inspections for loose or broken boards, nails, and screws. It should be refinished by applying a stain or sealer every two to three years to protect the wood from water damage, rot, mildew, and sun fading. The exact frequency can depend on the climate and the deck's exposure to sun and moisture. If your deck is painted, it will need repainting approximately every 10 years. Signs that your deck needs refinishing include faded, splintering, or warping boards.

Coping is the material that lines the perimeter of a pool and seals the transition between the top of the pool wall and the water. Decking surrounds the poolscape and extends far beyond the water's edge to provide a safe walking and lounging area. In short, coping is the border between the decking and the pool itself.

A deck that isn’t attached to a house is called a floating or freestanding deck. These standalone decks are built near ground level, so they usually don’t need deck stairs. Some don’t even require permits. Generally speaking, building a floating deck is faster and more DIY-friendly than constructing one that’s connected to your home.
