"I used his service a couple of times last December. I was satisfied with the service. The communication was good and everything was fine. He was excellent. I'm actually waiting for him right now to fix the gutter. I would hire him again."

"We hired Ed to replace a damaged section of drywall ceiling in one of the bedrooms in our house.  He came out quickly to give an estimate, started and finished the work when he said he would, and was very pleasant to deal with.  We were very happy with the results, and he stayed at the low end of his original estimate.  He even painted the finished job, which hadn't been part of our arrangement -- it was a big help to us.  We'll definitely hire him again.

"Excellent - I ended up hiring someone to help with shopping and finishing piece - waste of time and money. Jill's service was by far the most useful and best value in my decorating process.

"Everything is fabulous! They cleaned and stained our deck; installed new vinyl plank flooring; painted; and built a railing from scratch for our front entrance because my husband and I are mobility challenged and needed the railing to climb the stairs to the front door!"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

If your project is complex, it may make sense to hire an architect to draw plans. An architect might also be a good person to hire if you want to ensure your plans adhere to building codes and regulations.

While it’s never too early to start planning for a major home improvement project like a home addition, give yourself at least a month or two to plan and design your addition, find a contractor, and get the permits in order. For larger projects like a second-story addition that require designing with an architect, plan on three to four months of preparation.

You can draw your own house plans using three-dimensional modeling software, but in most cases, you’ll need an architect to draw up the final plans. Architects understand local building regulations and requirements, so their plans will be necessary for getting permits approved, and they’ll also ensure your home is structurally sound. DIY house plans can be a good place to start to help visualize your project, but you should always defer to a professional before trying to proceed with the project.

Services include creating technical drawings, floor plans, and 3D renderings for construction or renovation projects.

Yes, professionals will offer tailored solutions to fit architectural and personal style preferences.
