Sap, despite its stickiness, is primarily made of water and is responsible for wood being “green” when it’s first cut. If the glass is relatively clean, you can get away with a vinegar and water solution, but tougher stains will require a specialized cleaner.

Ventless and vented gas fireplaces each have their pros and cons. However, if you want to install a fireplace in a room without a chimney, then a vented model might be better (as long as they’re legal in your area, of course). On the other hand, if you have allergies, asthma, or other respiratory sensitivities, then a vented fireplace might be better for your health.
