"Outstanding, they came in and performed the job with safety and very precise. Once the trees and stumps were removed they filled the holes, back graded, and threw out seed and straw to make my project even better than I had ever planned. You may be able to install a garbage disposal on your own, especially if you're handy or have some experience with plumbing. Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

Garbage disposals can be considered bad for the environment due to their electricity usage, but good for the environment because they reduce the food waste sent to landfills. If everyone used a garbage disposal, it would tax the wastewater treatment facilities in that region, but if we had to choose one of the options, we’d say they are a net positive on the environment when used correctly. 

These appliances do unscrew, but you need to disconnect everything properly when you replace your garbage disposal. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench.
