H&M did an excellent job. Walls and ceilings were peeling off and they fixed it and painted it. See the before and after photos. They have also done plumbing work and lots of other projects.

Serviceman came into driveway and properly introduced himself and advised the purpose of his visit. He checked all tv cable connections and even went under the house where found several loose connections. After making the repairs he left with no mess or dirt left behind.

While it is possible to paint over wallpaper, it’s not always ideal. If the wallpaper is firmly adhered, has no bubbling or peeling, and isn’t textured, you can try to prime and paint over it. Use an oil-based primer to prevent the adhesive from bleeding through. However, if the paper is damaged or loose, removal is the better long-term solution.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. Wallpaper lasts an average of around 15 years, but there is some variance. The type of wallpaper matters, as vinyl wallpaper tends to last the longest—sometimes 20 years or more—while a peel-and-stick wallpaper, which is the easiest to install for DIYers, will usually only last for around five years. Exposure to high humidity, smoke, and UV rays from sunlight can also limit the lifespan of your wallpaper, as can heavy traffic in the installation area.

Whether you skim coat the entire wall or just a portion depends on the extent of the damage. If you only have small sections of gouges, a targeted skim coat will do the trick. However, if the surface feels uneven across larger areas, a full skim coat produces a smoother, more uniform result and helps prevent a patchy-looking paint finish.

You can reattach peeling peel-and-stick wallpaper using a commercial wallpaper adhesive. Make sure to choose an option that is repositionable and temporary, especially if you are concerned about wall damage. Or, you can remove the peeling panel and replace it with a new roll of the same peel-and-stick wallpaper design.
