Austin's Key and Lock has served the Barboursville area for more than 30 years. Starting out in the back of a van, Austin and his wife Linda, would cut keys, open safes, and help anyone who was locked out of their car. In 1980 they took their business to a new level by opening a store-front behind the infamous "pink elephant" and expanded their business to service the needs of the tri-state area and greater Charleston. This part connects the handles to the latch mechanism, and when it’s not properly engaged, turning the handle does nothing. Other issues might include a broken latch, loose screws, or even something small blocking an inner mechanism. In any case, it’s usually a matter of tightening, adjusting, or replacing a worn-out part inside the handle assembly—or calling in a professional to do it for you.
