"After dealing with a few other people and not having the best experience, I found Luke Clark and I’m glad I did. He was easy to work with, kept me in the loop, and did great work. The whole process was smooth and the roof turned out awesome. I’d definitely recommend Luke to anyone needing roofing work done."

"They worked quickly to finish in less than a day. Good weight steel,....but do check quality of work during a good rain. My roof valleys were cut too short on installation...so they had to come back to repair/patch that, and I really did not like to see patches installed one day after the install. Friendly work leaders but do check out the finished job during the rain...just to be sure all works as you'd like."

Customers say: Quick response

"I had a boat house, built by these folks for my boat. They built a good looking shop for my neighbor, I liked it, I also watched the construction of it and was impressed with their attention to detail. It was built in the cold of winter. They always showed up for work, on time, and stayed on the job as long as the weather allowed. So I gave them a call when I was ready to build. I am very happy with the end result. The builder addressed any concerns or questions I had and didn't consider the job finished until he was sure I was completely happy with the end result. It was built for the estimated price quoted with no '"pop up"" or "surprise additional costs" during the building process. All materials were of good quality as was the construction. It was erected quickly as well, This builder did everything I asked for, and more, on time as scheduled, and at the price agreed on. If you want to build without problems, at the right price and with quality materials and workmanship, you should check this company out. You won't be disappointed. I wasn't. I am one happy camper."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

You should plan on waiting as long as it takes for the roof deck to dry out completely if it gets wet. In most cases, this will take about 24 hours, but it could take longer if you have shading on your roof or cloudy weather after the rainfall that prevents the sun from drying the material.

You can replace a roof in the winter, though it’s not the most popular time to do so. The biggest drawback of winter roofing work is the weather. Snow and ice make for dangerous, slippery working conditions. Plus, shingles can only be installed in temperatures above 40 to 45 degrees.

The best time to replace a roof is in the spring or fall when the weather is mild. However, you can likely save some money by booking the job in the winter off-season, when roofers have more availability.

Many states require roofers to be licensed, and some states don’t mandate licensing. You can use Angi’s state licensing tool to check if a roofing company holds the proper licensing for your area. A licensed roofing contractor will provide reliable roof installation service, leading to a reduced risk of leaks in the future, which can be expensive to repair. Paying more for a licensed roofer upfront often means paying less over time.

The placement of snow guards depends on the individual roof, but typically snow guards are placed between 12 and 18 inches from the eaves, though they can be placed as close as six inches and as far as 24 inches from the eaves. A roofing professional can assess the roof and potential snow loads to determine the best placement.

A gambrel roof and a mansard roof are similar in that they are both hipped roofs, meaning they have double slopes—one steep and one more gradual above the steep slope. The difference is that a gambrel roof has a double slope on only two sides of the structure, whereas a mansard roof has a double slope on all four sides.
