"I cannot say enough good things about Gundry's Home Services and Allan Gundry. My wife and I hired Allan and handed him a list of various things to tear down, build, and repair around the home that we had just purchased. The list quickly grew as we began to uncover more things that needed repair. The two to three day job turned into an eleven to twelve day job. Allan did not leave us and finished all the additional work as well as the original work. He follows through on commitments, shows up on time and when expected, makes your job a priority, and keeps the project on track. We could not be happier. We really enjoyed doing business with Allan and will definitely be using him again."

Small jobs welcome

"Excellent service, prompt, professional, took time to explain if the repair was going to be worth it or purchase a new item. Repairs are well done & reasonably priced. I’d hire them again in a heart beat."

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

Most contractors do not charge for meetings, but it can depend on the project, mainly if it includes detailed consultations or project planning. For general estimates, homeowners shouldn't expect to be charged. Always ask up front about meeting fees to avoid surprises and ensure you know what’s included in the process.

A big resounding yes, hiring a contractor is 100% worth it. They bring expertise, manage permits, coordinate professions in different trades, and help avoid costly mistakes. A pro can keep your project on budget and schedule while ensuring quality work that adds value to your home.

Whether a scullery is worth it depends on how much you like to cook and entertain. If you frequently host gatherings—a scullery is likely worth the money. If you’re looking for ROI, it’s not so clear. It may not add significant value to your home, as it doesn’t increase square footage and may repurpose space that a buyer would have preferred to remain as-is (like a laundry room).

Handypeople usually don’t hold trade licenses, so they typically aren’t qualified to tackle projects involving installing or making alterations to plumbing or electrical lines. Below are some jobs that a handyperson usually won’t be able to complete:

  • Installing plumbing for a new kitchen or bathroom

  • Replacing plumbing pipes

  • Installing or repairing septic systems

  • Running new electrical wiring

  • Installing a subpanel

From drywall repair to fixture installations, pros address diverse home maintenance needs.
