"We has a pipe burst late afternoon on a Friday. All plumbers were closed. I left messages at multiple plumbers. One answering service responded and said they would contact their person. It is now over 2 weeks later and Anderes is still the only one who replied. He called Sat. afternoon, they came that day and repaired the pipe. They were very courteous, professional, and efficient. I will be using them for all plumbing needs from now on."

"Frasiers sent Cody to complete the requested plumbing work. Cody arrived on time and completed the work in a timely manner. We had Cody return to replace shutoff valves to other plumbing as well. Last week we had Luke come out to provide an estimate for electrical work. He was thorough and explained everything. Luke is scheduled to return to complete the work. Communication has been fantastic with everyone at Frasiers. They have been professional and courteous every step of the way."

"Excellent initial consultation with Ryan M. Careful COVID-19 prevention measures. Thorough and knowledgeable explanation of all options. Provided a quote that did not change throughout the entire process. Scheduled an installation appointment about 6 weeks later. We requested a change order that was dealt with expeditiously. Installers arrived on at the day and time as promised. Jon B. and Chris G. were professional and skilled. Demolition debris had to be removed by carrying it throughout our entire house and when finished, they left everything immaculate. Job involved a significant amount of demolition, re-routing of plumbing, addition of walls, water proofing an existing window, and installation of a walk-in shower with multiple shower heads. Again, professional in all aspects. Would hire again in a minute."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

You must make several key decisions during plumbing projects in Tomahawk. First, decide whether you or your licensed contractor will secure the required city permits. For seasonal lake cabins, choose a reliable winterization strategy, like a full drain-down system. Year-round homes require decisions on freeze protection to combat the deep frost depth. Finally, properties outside city limits require input on private well setups and septic system sizing.

Helpful?

Inadequate winterization of seasonal cabins is a frequent and costly mistake during plumbing projects in Tomahawk. Homeowners frequently underestimate the deep frost depth and fail to install proper pipe insulation. Skipping required permits or hiring unlicensed contractors creates liability issues and complications during real estate transactions. Finally, adding new fixtures without verifying your existing septic system capacity leads to expensive system failures and environmental hazards.

Helpful?

You will encounter several types of professionals handling plumbing in WI. Master plumbers oversee projects and secure permits, while journeymen and apprentices perform supervised work. Restricted plumbers handle specific tasks like installing water softeners. For rural properties, certified soil testers and inspectors design and approve private septic systems. Additionally, licensed well drillers coordinate with plumbers to set up pressure systems for homes relying on groundwater.

Helpful?

A closed and approved permit from the city is the primary indicator of correct plumbing work in Tomahawk. For winter safety, verify that pipes in exterior walls feature adequate insulation to withstand extreme cold and deep frost depths. On rural properties, a completed well report and clean water quality tests demonstrate a thorough job. Additionally, inspect fixtures for early staining, which indicates unresolved iron levels in the water supply.

Helpful?

Changes to plumbing directly impact other systems in your WI home. Rerouting pipes near forced-air ducts or boiler systems alters heat distribution, increasing the risk of frozen pipes. Adding new bathrooms increases the hydraulic load on your septic system, which requires a capacity evaluation. Installing heat tape or new water heaters requires dedicated electrical circuits. Always consult a licensed professional to ensure your structural and electrical systems remain safe.
