Small jobs welcome

Hi, I'm a retired teacher and mechanical engineer who enjoys solving problems and helping people. After years of teaching and engineering, I turned my attention to the small home projects that often get pushed to the bottom of the to-do list. Whether it's assembling furniture, hanging shelves or TVs, installing fixtures, or tackling your honey-do list, I take pride in doing every job with precision, reliability, and attention to detail. My goal is simple: quality work, honest service, and leaving your home better than I found it.

I am a young, middle aged family man who is curious how it would be to have my own business. I like problem solving and fixing/replacing things to better shape than what they were before and don't mind helping people who don't have the time or ability to do handyman projects themselves. I do a lot of tinkering around my house like building decks, landscaping/lawn work, tree pruning from the ground, putting a sink in, ripping out carpet and putting down laminated wood flooring, painting, changing light fixtures, installation and replacement of appliances, hanging blinds, installing doors, etc... I hope I can be of service for your handyperson needs.\nThanks and have a great day!

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

To install or move washer and dryer hookups, you will likely need a combination of professionals. A plumber can handle the water supply lines and drain pipes. If you have a gas dryer, a plumber certified for gas lines or an HVAC specialist will be needed to run the gas line. An electrician is required to install the correct electrical outlets. For simpler jobs, a local handyperson may suffice, while a contractor might be needed for tasks like drywall repair for the new vents.

Prioritize tasks and arrange a consultation to discuss scope and timeline with the handyman.

Most contractors do not charge for meetings, but it can depend on the project, mainly if it includes detailed consultations or project planning. For general estimates, homeowners shouldn't expect to be charged. Always ask up front about meeting fees to avoid surprises and ensure you know what’s included in the process.

After cutting Corian® to the right size, you may have to attach it to another piece of Corian®, either at a corner or another seam. One way to create the tightest seam is to place the two pieces of Corian® on a level surface at ⅜-inch apart. Run a router in between the two slabs to create an identical edge on both pieces. Then use the proper DuPont Joint Adhesive for your type of seam and countertop to join the Corian® together.

Whether a scullery is worth it depends on how much you like to cook and entertain. If you frequently host gatherings—a scullery is likely worth the money. If you’re looking for ROI, it’s not so clear. It may not add significant value to your home, as it doesn’t increase square footage and may repurpose space that a buyer would have preferred to remain as-is (like a laundry room).
