"I got two exterior doors and a storm door. I am in love with the quality and look of these doors. They were on the more expensive side but the sales person worked with me to find the most affordable option. I feel at ease in knowing these doors are of the highest quality and a warranty to back them up! Thank you Mad City Windows!!!"

"Couldn't be happier with my new tub/shower and surround. Justin did an excellent job and completed the job in one day. From removal to install and total clean up, all in one day. The actual scheduling took about 9 weeks, but that is pretty typical. I recommend Forever Baths for your consideration."

"Excellent initial consultation with Ryan M. Careful COVID-19 prevention measures. Thorough and knowledgeable explanation of all options. Provided a quote that did not change throughout the entire process. Scheduled an installation appointment about 6 weeks later. We requested a change order that was dealt with expeditiously. Installers arrived on at the day and time as promised. Jon B. and Chris G. were professional and skilled. Demolition debris had to be removed by carrying it throughout our entire house and when finished, they left everything immaculate. Job involved a significant amount of demolition, re-routing of plumbing, addition of walls, water proofing an existing window, and installation of a walk-in shower with multiple shower heads. Again, professional in all aspects. Would hire again in a minute."

"I was in the process of selling my house when mold was discovered in my attic by the buyers inspector.  I called a couple different contractors to get a quote on remediation.  Rich came out within a couple of days, crawled around in the attic and provided a quote on the spot.  His quote was quicker and much better than the others.  In addition, I was comfortable with his analysis of the situation and the approach he laid out for fixing the issue -- he explained what was involved in the costs.  I wasn't overly thrilled with this unexpected expense but I was comfortable that I wasn't being fleeced.
I was able to get on his schedule within a couple of weeks.  He estimated that it would take 2-3 days.  This was important as my home sale was contigent on resolving this.  I paid 50% down immediately.
The night before the work was scheduled he called me and informed me that they were running behind on some other jobs and they wouldn't make it on Tuesday but would increase the size of the crew in order to complete on schedule.  Not a big deal, glad that he communicated this.
The 2 man crew came out on Wednesday morning, 8am as promised.  They appeared professional and were friendly.  I gave them a quick tour of how to access the 2 attics and off they went to work.  I needed to go to work and felt perfectly comfortable leaving them in my home, alone, to perform the necessary tasks.  Normally, I wouldn't do this but I was comfortable with the crew and didn't have a lot of options.
My wife came home in the afternoon as they were wrapping up their work.  They had finished ahead of schedule -- 1 day, as an additional crew member came in to assist, as promised.  I did a quick inspection and all the baffles appeared to be properly installed to ensure airflow.  Everything else looked good to my untrained eye.
I paid the remaining 50% the following Saturday and am a happy customer.  I highly recommend this contractor for both their price and professionalism.  Couldn't have gone much smoother.

"Scott did an amazing job! He definitely cares about the service he provides. He's been available via text messages with questions or concerns that we have after the fact. He doesn't hesitate to listen to your concerns as well as provide his advice. We couldn't have asked for someone better. Plus, Scott does more than basement work. Will call for any "handy" services we may have to see if he can provide! Costs are 100% reasonable!"
This is pretty typical of what you see when you open a floor. A great deal of water I see that concrete floor!
With the previous work, they had used a garden hose to try to guide the water to drain tile. Seven out of 10 of the garden hoses were clogged with stone. If someone talks to you about using garden hoses as a part of the project, move on.
After cleaning the crack, we install ports that we will inject our polyurethane foam that expands up to 20 times, filling the crack from the inside all the way out to the outer wall.
Not every home has a “true footing”. In this case, while the wall didn’t look great it was extremely solid, so it made for a very smooth project from beginning to end.

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Homes need solid construction to survive a hurricane, including these parts:

  • A secure foundation at the right elevation for your home’s flood threat level

  • Hurricane straps to secure your home’s foundation

  • Waterproof basement sealant or rubberized sheeting that directs water away from the foundation

  • A strong, well-attached roof that’s firmly secured to the framing

  • Shutters or roll-down window protectors that you can close outside to prevent broken windows

  • A garage door bracing system to keep high winds from caving in or tearing off the door

  • Deadbolts to keep your exterior doors in place against wind pressure and floodwater

A storm door should be the same size as the front door. Both doors will fit into the same opening on the exterior of the home, so you can expect the storm door to be the same size as the front door. Most doors will be about 32 or 36 inches wide and 75 or 81 inches tall, although you can customize your door sizes.

Each has its use, depending on the scenario. Security doors are primarily intended to keep people out of the home, while storm doors are used to protect the home from extreme weather. Both tend to be made from heavy-duty metal and may include glass panels to allow light to enter the home. Storm doors can feature mesh screens, just like screen doors, to allow for increased ventilation and to keep out pests. Security doors rarely, if ever, have mesh screens.

If you’re replacing an interior door, it’s best to get the work done in the summer or winter, as door installation professionals are the least busy during these seasons and might charge lower labor costs based on the decreased demand. You can also potentially save money by hiring a professional to install your exterior door during these seasons, but most homeowners wait until the spring or fall so that the extreme temperatures don’t put added strain on their HVAC systems while the door is being added or replaced.

A well-installed storm door in good condition can increase your home's value. This upgrade is more than just an aesthetic change; it adds functionality, security, and insulation that can appeal to buyers. While it may not significantly raise the sale price on its own, a storm door improves curb appeal and can help attract more potential buyers. However, a shabby or poorly maintained one could have the opposite effect.
