I have owned and operated Mr. Chimney Sweep for 30 years. I am the owner operator of this business. My wife answers the phone, and I have one full time employee, Michael Snider. We are a complete chimney service provider. I have been certified with the CSIA for 30 years, and a member of the National Chimney Sweep for the same period. I am also a member of the Wisconsin Chimney Specialist Guild. Cost depends on the job. We are professional, clean, punctual, and honest.

"The former sweep retired/sold the business. We had him clean our chimney a few years ago and he was ok. This new gentleman is fantastic, very thorough, very professional. His work was much more than we expected. You could tell he really enjoyed and took pride in his work. Excellent work!"

This will depend on your existing roof to some degree but it’s common to raise a roof 4 to 8 feet. The exact amount you can raise is subject to the existing structure and for most homes with average roof slopes—20 to 45 degrees—you can raise the roof around 5 feet.

If you’re choosing between a roof overlay and a tear-off, opt for a tear-off and full roof replacement instead of a roof overlay if possible. The cost savings from an overlay can easily be eclipsed by repair costs, the effects of structural damage from the additional weight, and needing to replace your roof sooner than expected. A full replacement will last longer and is less likely to need damage repaired over time.

It’s possible to install solar panels on a tar and gravel roof, but it does increase the risk of roof leaks more than installing solar on a sloped roof would. Flat roofs pool water in heavy rain and hold onto snow longer than sloped roofs do, so all aspects of the roof will be exposed to moisture and water more readily.
