I have owned and operated Mr. Chimney Sweep for 30 years. I am the owner operator of this business. My wife answers the phone, and I have one full time employee, Michael Snider. We are a complete chimney service provider. I have been certified with the CSIA for 30 years, and a member of the National Chimney Sweep for the same period. I am also a member of the Wisconsin Chimney Specialist Guild. Cost depends on the job. We are professional, clean, punctual, and honest.

Your chimney needs a structurally sound chimney cap, protective lining, damper, chimney flashing, and brick and mortar to prevent water from goind down your chimney. The most obvious and severe sign of a roof leak is the presence of wet spots on your ceilings, specifically on the top floor of your home. Secondly, when you install new over old, you trap whatever moisture is in the older layer. This can cause problems later on, especially if you have a humid house. Another reason not to add new over old is the weight factor. Finally, when you cover an old layer, you lose the ability to inspect it for damage, rot, or mold.

You can damage your shingles if you use the wrong type of paint on them. You should always use acrylic latex paint specifically formulated for shingles. Other types of paint may trap moisture, which can cause bigger problems like rot and mildew. Considering that roof replacement costs $9,100 on average, it’s definitely best to avoid making this mistake.
