Radley Landscaping was one of the choices. I called for a quote and Steve (owner) was at my house within a day. My husband and I wanted the project completed in a short time period and Steve assured us he could complete the job in that time frame. He had given us a written quote for the project. It was competitively priced in comparison to the other quotes we received. He also told us he would give us free sod (instead of seed) and would fix my flower bed (flatten the dirt and make my border even and flat) free of charge. The quote included all the materials, labor, etc. My husband and I decided to use Radley since he could complete the job when we wanted it done. However after giving Steve half down, it was very difficult to contact him after that. He made promises to come and start work on a certain day and did not show up or even call to inform us he was not going to make it. This occurred on several occasions. Then he sent out one of his employees to start the job and stated it would be completed by the weekend. He had the paving bricks delivered to the house and the delivery truck placed them behind one of our cars. We did not think anything of it, since Steve assured us the job would be completed over the weekend. However, Steve and his employees did not show up to complete the job. As a result, our car was blocked in the garage. My husband and myself were luckily able to move one of the palettes and got the car out of the garage. The job was not completed in the time frame we had been promised (also due to some rain). After numerous phone calls to Steve and Steve not returning our phone calls, we decided to let Steve know we were no longer interested in him completing the job. Steve called back within minutes. He had many excuses why the job was not complete (my trailer hitch broke, I don?t have a trencher, weather, on and on). He also told us that the sod he was going to give us would not grow well in the area were we wanted it. Our thoughts were if he knew this, why would he offer us the sod? About 3 weeks after our requested date of completion, Steve was at the house working on the project. However as my husband was watching their progress, he noticed that Steve was not fulfilling his contract. Per the contract, Steve was supposed to put down a 6? base of crushed gravel, install a weed barrier behind and in front of the wall, backfill with gravel (and dirt), and provide all materials. These are things he did not do. He also did not order enough dirt to fill the area and told us we had enough. When we questioned him about why he did not follow the contract, he told us we did not need these items. We asked him to adjust the price and he refused, indicating the ?price is the price.? We were furious since he did not complete the job to our satisfaction. Against our better judgment, we agreed to pay him and my husband told him to get off our property. My husband and I discussed we would have another landscaper fix his work and we did not want to deal with Steve anymore. However the next day, Steve called and apologized. My husband indicated he was not happy with the job and was going to cancel the check. Steve had already cashed the check but our bacn did not take it out of the account yet. Steve asked him not to cancel the check and would be at the house the same day to finish the job. He brought in more dirt and seeded. Despite this, Steve did not fulfill his contract. Steve was very unprofessional and made promises he did not keep (he did not fix my flower bed as promised). Every time we talked to him, he was always in a rush. He did not listen to what we wanted and attempted to convince us to change our minds. He did not measure accurately and was short on dirt (and wanted to charge us for the extra dirt). We also had to supply some materials and had to purchase more seed. I would not recommend Radley landscaping/contracting for any work that you want done to your home or yard. Extremely disappointed in our decision and would not recommend them to anyone. FYI, he also owns Seth's affordable roofing. I can't image that service for that business is any better. We originally brought them in to build a French drain, then had them quote on a patio and landscaping. Their workmanship is fantastic, and they bring a very artistic eye to the hardscaping and the plantings. Their primary landscaping planner is highly educated in plants and landscape planning. We also could not get over how much work they produced in any given day. They show up early, work late, and stay focused. They also were meticulous about cleaning up after themselves, the importance of which can not be overstated when you're talking about moving so much dirt around! We are thrilled with the quality of work, the value of the work, and the beauty of the result. "The Roto-Rooter plumber was great and explained everything clearly. He fixed the issue and left everything neat and clean. The reason for the 4 star is they were supposed to call 30 mins before arrival. They showed up without calling and I had to rush home from work. The 4 stars is also due to sticker shock (no fault of the plumber). Original quote was $720 for a clogged drain. They knocked it down to $500 with only a 30 day warranty rather than 6 month. He found the clog at 35’ (10’ beyond my 25’ snake) in less than 20 mins. I now know I can get a 125’ power snake with all the different pipe size attachments for $300. I do appreciate the promptness of Roto Rooter, ease of scheduling, and fixing the issue right away, but I will invest in my own 100’ snake before spending $500 for 20 mins of labor (not including their travel). Thanks Roto Rooter for jumping on this and fixing the issue in less than 24 hours after contacting you."

"They did a poor job. Within 3 months, plants started growing in between the asphalt. The company refuses to come fix it and is adamant it is done correctly against seal coating companies saying that it is poorly done. I was informed to seal coat the aspahlt within 3 months/in fall, and the driveway didnt last that long. He refuses to give me the terms and conditions to the "warranty" on the driveway despite several times asking. He only picks up responses to getting paid and accepting work. Also do not view the "estimate", it is a trick to get you to accept their work. Communication is difficult with this company unless its about giving them money. Would not recommend."

FAQs for dirt hauling projects in Salem Lakes, WI
The kinds of items or materials accepted will vary by hauling company. Some companies will not handle hazardous waste, but hiring ones that do will cost from $5 to $100 or more, depending on what type and quantity of material.
Most companies will haul items such as:
Construction and remodeling waste: $100–$600
Appliances: $50–$600
Furniture: $50–$400
Electronics: $60–$200
Yard waste: $70–$500
Unfortunately, some plumbing scenarios, like a broken sewer pipe repair, will require excavation to complete the job. Plumbing excavation costs range from $30 to $70per cubic foot. However, if you need additional trenching, expect to pay an extra $4 to $12per linear foot. Keep in mind that these costs are on top of the plumbing repair costs, and they don’t account for labor costs. Consult your excavation specialist to determine an accurate estimate for your job.
The cost to hire a professional junk hauling service ranges from $60 to $600, averaging about $270. Your final price is determined by the type of junk, amount of junk, the distance to the dumpsite, and the equipment required to move and haul your items or materials. Keep in mind that construction junk removal is more expensive than hauling household items, so expect to pay $800 for removing large piles of debris.
The average cost for pool excavation is $2,500. This cost can range from $450 to $4,500, depending on the pool shape and size, time of year, and any need to move buried utilities.
When excavating for your pool, you might have to move existing utilities. You can expect to pay an additional $15 to $25per linear foot to move gas lines. To move a septic system, it’ll cost an additional $2,000 to $20,000. A pool that is 10 feet by 12 feet averages $450 to excavate, and a 20-foot-by-40-foot pool averages $3,020.
The cost for residential excavation is $3,200 on average, ranging between $50 and $200per cubic yard. Total costs could range from $500 to $15,000, depending on the project type, yard size, and soil type.
When a project needs an excavator, the contractor will subcontract one as part of the larger project. If you hire an excavation specialist, you can expect to pay between $40 and $180per hour. When excavating, if you have soil with excessive rocks or clay deposits, expect an additional cost of $200 to $1,200.
