"The staff seem to be really good and professional people. The reason for my 2-star rating is that the work done simply didn't deliver on expectations of durability. There are sections of my driveway where nearly all of the seal coating came off in less than 9 months, so I am going to have to re-do the job myself. This is not what I had in mind when I paid over $1,100 (a fair price, if it would have lasted longer). I understand that the work isn't covered anymore, as I didn't report it until the thaw revealed so much was missing, and I'm not upset with Merit or their staff. Gravel driveways are significantly more affordable than asphalt driveways, making them an enticing financial decision when choosing your next driveway material. On average, gravel driveways are $5.75 to $13 per square foot cheaper than asphalt driveways. 

It's not just their price that makes gravel driveways more economical. Gravel driveways also can last up to 100 years with minimum maintenance, whereas asphalt driveways only last for 15 to 30 years with proper maintenance.
