Customers say: Quality work

"Ryan called me within about 2 hours of me inquiring about me water heater job gave me a quote that was less than a larger company, we set up a day and time for install. He showed up about 10 minutes early, and was done with the water heater installation/removal of old one, and clean up, in a little over an hour!! ?"

"The written quote was misleading, ended up over $500.00 more than original quote. Over all very satisfied wiith work done. Employee that did the work was very polite and professional. The project manager was very personable and polite but needs to find a way to either write in baseline estimates on separate service costs independent of another unit being installed into the the quote or send an entirely separate service quote apart from installation quote. The quote that I received mentioned the iron filter service so I was led to believe it was included with the water softener installation. A misunderstanding but easily avoidable. I would still recommend this company based on the quality of the their work."

"We had a fantastic experience with Wisconsin Well & Water Systems. I initially found this company through Home Advisor and submitted a request for a quote. Within hours I heard back and had an appointment scheduled that worked with my schedule; other local companies took days to return my calls. Bruce goes out of his way to help his clients learn so they can make informed decisions about their well systems. Our well dated back to 1964. Initially, I thought the job would be smaller, possibly replacing the pressure tank. As Bruce spent time up front investigating our situation and providing options, the job grew but I never felt pressured. Bruce is personable and earned my trust through all the time he invested before we even made a deposit. He and his crew went above and beyond my expectations to schedule at a time that was convenient for me, complete the work quickly, and to the highest quality. Our water tastes better than it has in years, plus the water pressure is great! I really appreciated the hard work and highly recommend this company."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Yes. Hard water is what causes scale buildup, and a whole-house filter provides numerous benefits beyond water softening. Any water that enters your home will go through the filter, which cleans up all water that you will use for cooking, bathing, and drinking. A whole-house water filter also blocks harmful particles like heavy metals.

Hard water is not considered unhealthy and is safe to drink, cook with, and bathe in. It doesn't pose a risk to your physical health and can even help you get enough essential minerals like calcium in your diet. However, it can negatively affect skin and hair. Using hard water for washing can contribute to dry skin, an itchy scalp, and may worsen conditions like eczema by altering the pH balance. Additionally, some people do not like the taste of hard water.

A good hardness level for drinking water can vary based on personal preferences, but an ideal level is 3.5 to 7 GPG. This means your water isn’t soft or hard. However, some people prefer the “fresh” taste from the minerals in hard water, while others like the smoother, “slippery” texture of soft water.

Selecting the right system depends on testing your water to understand the contaminants present and considering your household's water usage and specific needs, such as removing specific contaminants.

The chemicals in a water softener can wear down the anode rod in the heater and shorten its life span. However, for most people, the benefits of the softener outweigh this potential drawback.

Have a plumber inspect the anode rod annually for damage, as replacing the anode rod is far less expensive than replacing the entire water heater.
