"These guys were great when they showed up, very efficient, very professional on a personal level. They even left the house & came back, saying they remembered they’d forgotten to relight my water heater. I was floored.. until the next time I went down to do laundry & noticed they’d GLUED a business card to my water heater. It’s not even removable without some serious elbow work & a razor blade or chisel.. What kind of professional, in essence, tags a customers property..?! (By the way- the job was a gas line fix OUTSIDE) In my experience a professional hands over a business card, or a fridge magnet, or whatever, with a handshake & a smile.. had he done either of things I’d be calling him first without hesitation. But now.. I’m left with a feeling of being really disrespected. Bad move fellas. Does not inspire a real good feeling.."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

The difference between a built-in and regular grill is installation and design. A built-in grill is integrated into an outdoor kitchen or structure, often within a countertop or island. It is a permanent fixture. A regular grill is standalone, portable, or cart-mounted, allowing mobility and versatility in placement. Built-in grills are typically larger with more cooking space, while regular grills come in various sizes. Built-in grills are favored for creating a custom outdoor cooking area, while regular grills provide convenience and flexibility.

On average, a gas grill can last from five to 15 years. The exact lifespan depends on several factors, including the brand and quality of the grill, frequency of use, and whether the gas line is buried or above ground. With proper maintenance and care, such as regular deep cleanings to remove food, grease, and carbon deposits, a grill's life can be extended. Protecting the grill from the elements with a cover can also prevent rust and reduce the need for repairs. Most grill manufacturers also offer extended warranties, which vary in coverage and terms.

The cost of a gas grill burner ranges from $10 to $100 or more, depending on the brand. If you’re replacing one burner, consider replacing all the burners simultaneously. Although it will cost more upfront, it will save you the hassle of replacing a burner every few months, and your grill will cook more evenly and efficiently.

Yes, most states require a plumber to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Check our state licensing tool to review the local plumber guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Appliances typically connected to a gas line include gas stoves, water heaters, furnaces, and gas fireplaces. Essentially, any appliance in your home that uses gas needs to be connected to a gas line, which connects your home with the main gas line owned and operated by your gas company.
