"It went very well. They obtained the materials and scheduled installation about two weeks sooner than expected, which was great. The installer worked diligently along with a plumber, and the job took one day plus a few hours. I'm very satisfied with the results."

Carrying the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, LeafGuard Gutters feature a unique, patented design that lets water in and keeps debris out. Having a reliable, clog-free gutter system means no more surprise leaks, and no more risky trips up the roof every month to clean out your gutters. If your LeafGuard gutters ever do develop a clog, we will clear them out, free of charge. A reliable roof not only looks great and adds value to your home – it also protects the structural integrity of our home, your family, and your belongings. At Larson Home Services, we are proud to install only the best roofing products from GAF, and have achieved Master Elite Contractor status.

"We paid a BIG premium for worry free, excellent service...and the job got done but it was a huge hassel. The sales guy made a great pitch and although the price was about 30% more than we were quoted when we talked to multiple contractors about doing the roof, gutters, and insulation separately, we decided to go with them because it seemed like it would be excellent service & workmanship. The roof and gutter/soffit/fascia all went well. They were on time, courteous, and did the work well. The only problem with those aspects of the work was that a pile of gutter-related materials was left on our lawn for nearly 2 weeks and was only picked up after I called multiple times and talked to several people over the course a week or so. The insulation work was way worse. The salesman talked a great deal about how great their Dr Energy Saver system was. A very sciencey explanation and he blew all sorts of smoke about how professional the whole thing would be and how we'd get a "packet" afterwards with before and after photos and complete documentation of the work. The insulation guys, although pleasant, were obviously not well versed in the Dr Energy Saver system - they blew cellulose insulation right up against a big screen open to the outside after I spoke to 2 people specifically about sealing the opening, and after I was told that sealing an opening like that would be done anyway as part of DrEnergy Saver work. After I noticed the issue they came back and fixed it the next day. But We never got the packet with photos they hyped so much during the sales job. I Called several times over a month and couldn't get anyone to tell me what was going on and only got one person to call me back, who just said they'd look into it. Then they sent a 2nd bill threatening to put a lien on our house if we didn't pay up! After I called them some more, finally they sent a guy out to get the pictures and gave us 2%(!) off the price. After they finally came back to take the photos &sent them to me there was no "packet", no before/after comparison--we got 7 photos of random corners. Definitely not the rock solid complete documentation we were promised. The whole time we were trying to get the work done so we could pay and be done with all this, and no one would call us back, the billing dept kept sending us bills. We got another threatening a lien about a day after we finally received the photos - and after our final payment was in the mail."

"Beware of Feldco. Misleading Sales Tactics. We had windows, siding, gutters, facet, soffiting, and a back door and storm door installed. Salesman stated two payments. 50% down to start the job and remaining due at completion and satisfaction of the jobs. They wanted payment after each job. Workers left two windows unframed with pine shims and spray foam insulation sticking out. Back door lock was installed crooked, bottom weather stripping was ripped up, and worker destroyed my original oak trim around the door and installed white trim in place of it. Siding crew didnt speak english and I came home to them installing insulation board over my existing siding instead of taking old siding off. They were caught not replacing old rotted facet boards and tried installing over rotted out wood. Vinyl trim around the windows was not even. They had to come out three times to caulk the same window. Workers put up new gutters with large black scrape on the front. Sales presentation is recorded, but will not provide a copy of audio to customer."

"We used WW twice for window and door replacement. Initially we were pleased. The installation folks were friendly and engaged. However, one of our windows did not function properly. Called WW and they said they'd take care of it and wanted me to measure the window, which I did and described what window needed work. An employee came to the house a few days later and said he would reorder window. Several weeks later, I received a call to set up time for the replacement window install. The workers came to the house but it was the wrong size window. No problem. Mistakes happen. Unfortunately, it took WW two additional attempts to order and install the new window over the course of several months. On the last visit, the right window was finally installed. However, the window screen wasn't ordered. The installer said he'd order the screen. I don't think they ever did order the screen at that point. After waiting for more than the month, I called WW and was told they would find out what was going on. Again, I had to call them back after waiting for weeks for an update. This happened four times. I was told multiple things. The screen was here and they would come out to install. The screen was the wrong screen, sorry, and they would have to reorder. I finally got a call from Deann or Deanna who is the owner. She apologized and said what happened was unacceptable. But, she then went on to blame the manufacturer, which would have been more believable if WW would have kept me updated. Instead, I always had to call them. Finally, I called them yesterday and they said they had received the screen yesterday and they sent out an installer who put in the right screen. By this time, I didn't believe they had just received the screen. I felt, instead, it was not a priority for them to resolve the issue. Took all of a few minutes to put in the right screen. But, I never got a call from them the screen was here and I'm sure if I didn't call them I would have waited indefinitely for this simple fix. The experience left me feeling that after giving them business and thousands of dollars they got what they wanted and were unconcerned about servicing the warranty or ensuring their mistake was resolved as promised multiple times. This all started in October or November 2020. Not resolved until August 17, 2021. Very unsatisfying experience. Very poor customer service and accountability."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

There are two places where you should not place foam insulation: around electrical boxes or near lightboxes. The foam insulation could get inside the electrical boxes and damage the wiring. Spraying foam too close to a lightbox creates a potential fire hazard; it could also cause damage to the light.

One of the disadvantages of soffit vents is they can bleed warm air from the attic during winter, resulting in slightly higher energy bills and a colder house. There are ways to mitigate this effect—mostly just closing the vent in the fall. What’s most important is your attic is ventilated to some degree in the winter.

Yes, you should add an insulative cover to outdoor water spigots in the winter for better protection against freezing. Make sure to use waterproof insulating material—something like a towel or old shirt can actually make the faucet more prone to freezing when the material soaks up rain or snow.

Spray foam insulation can last up to 80 to 100 years, making your investment worthwhile over the long run. Closed-cell spray foam tends to have the highest durability. Open-cell foam is subject to moisture, which can lead to deterioration. Remember that some spray foams will damage plastic piping, so consult a pro if you have PVC or CPVC pipes.

Yes, you should insulate your PEX pipes if you’re wondering how to keep water pipes from freezing. Pipes in uninsulated rooms or outside the house should always be insulated. If you’re looking to save money, you may not always need to install insulation on PEX pipes that are running through interior walls with insulation.
